Perhaps, some may be ignorant of biz decisions, & have CLOUDED judgements on our profitable National Airline, which provide jobs for locals not just in cabin crews for different routes to many hundreds other Nations on Earth, supply chains for local companies in logistics as well as REVENUE back to our National Treasury to fund social expenditures such as education, healthcare, infrastructures, etc....
Kong simi Lancheow? How many locals have they provided jobs for? I think less then 50% of the total SQ group staff are native born Sinkies. The rest are FT. We provide so many jobs to FTs for fuck? And they don't plow the revenue back to the National Treasury. Instead, they give 8 months bonus to their staff, more then half od which are FTs. And in the 2 years of Covid, they were a huge drain on the national treasury, costing the taxpayers $billions in losses.

1. India has a population of 1.4Billion citizens. It's market size is huge, & despite it's socio - political issues, reaching out to other Nations is one of the ways to help India citizens to realize its potential. Black or white, race, language or religion, or whatever, we are ALL fellow Humans with the same DNA.
We are singaporeans. We are not in the business of helping Indians realize their potential. We are should be in the business of helping sinkies reach their potential instead. Now which part of this are u confused with?
While the cost of air-flights may seem high, but it is NOT unreachable to the few - bizmen, students, even down to the semi-skilled worker seeking better life... The power of ONE is an exponential number in maths, which when EXTRAPOLATED, it can even show billions of figures, not just in financial terms, but social terms...


Thus a market potential lays therein, as the famous saying here in SBF - can eat, don't waste.


2. This point here does not mean to insult or cast aspersions on Indians - whom are only are fellow Humans on Earth. It is just that they have a different culture, way of life that may seem incomprehensible to us or even to the rest of Humanity. Try taking a flight to or from India where the passengers are mostly Indians, & one will understand what I mean.

Thus, it would make biz sense to SIA, to hire cabin crew from India, whom mostly would serve upon the India route, as they are brought up in Indian culture, & would have more compassionate understandings of their fellow citizens than local citizens, to PROVIDE THE LEVEL OF SERVICE that made SIA great since its inception...
SQ first priority is to give qualified singaporeans cabin crew positions. Now it may surprise you, there are a fair number of native born singaporeans who are of Indian origin and were brought up in the Indian culture and speak the language, etc. Why must hire from India? U don't mention the only obvious answer, which is that SQ is fucking over these singaporeans because they can go to India and hire these same cabin crews for 1/2 the salary or less. They are not in the business of achieving your lofty national goals. They will deprive a qualified singaporean of a cabin crew job just so to fill the position with a low cost CECA indian. Get your brain out of ass and do some thinking for a change.

2. SIA cannot growth in North America as they cannot connect well and more expensive. Even Air Canada joined in the foray this year.
3. SIA depends on Scoot to grow in NE Asia, as the ANA, JAL, China Southern, Korean Air, Asiana, EVA, Lux, which are more competitive and better connected.

Lately, SIA has been depending on business growth from India for SQ and Scoot. While there were stricter travel restrictions for Indian-passengers during the COVID days, SIA helped transit balas all over the world like money laundering during covid days. Today, SIA's sustained organic growth is also from flying indians to Australia, New Zealand and North America.

Can create home hub in JKT and hire local Indons to be cabin crew and set up logistics support base there. Give indons jobs and contribute to their economy. Pay a little bribe can go a long way. This will be great area of growth for them.
