SIA Bleeds

"If it comes to saving the airport workers or saving the airline I will save the airline workers"

I'll save the airlines.

The workers are a dime a dozen. It's the airlines that provides the jobs.

question to ask is airlines provide jobs for whom? if for foreigners, i wish they will close down

Today, IATA predicted that air traffic will only get back to pre pandemic level after 2024. This spells trouble for SIA. SIA going down to $2 is very likely soon
Then sell it after 2024 if u had purchased it.

SIA, where did $413.9M of Shareholder equity on account book dissappear to?

https://www.singaporeair.com/saar5/pdf/Investor-Relations/Financial-Results/SGXNET/bu-q1fy2021.pdf

I want to ask, why the total assets minus total liabilities,
$40,352M-22,357.8M=$17,994.2M is higher than the "equity attributable to owners of the company" that is stated as $17,580.3M? Where did the difference of $413.9M disappear to?

[PS: there is also a discrepancy of $418.6M in the FY19/2020 result as well, so I would like to know who are these phantom (unaccounted for) asset holders are, who are entitled to equity value, yet are not shareholders of the SIA company?]

How come then the accounts are for some other extraneous parties, and thus the "equity attributable to owners of the company" is shockingly less thanwhat the assets minus liability accounts show?

Can some account explain this discrepancy, or is my calculation wrong?

What kind of strange/ sloppy/ clumsy accounting method is this, where the assets and liabilities of other extraneous parties are included to begin with (or not pro-rated to what is owned and financially liable to SIA shareholders in the first place)?

what is your advice to someone who is planning to buy SIA?
I will probably buy him an ice cream for his invaluable contribution to nation building (must show proof of the trade to claim this reward, whilst stocks last only) .

SIA is a good company. It will suffer losses at least for the next two yrs. I am looking for good investment opportunity and SIA at this time is a good counter to look at. But my assessment is it will go below $3 soon. So while many investor are shouting buy SIA, I disagree with them and instead will wait it out for SIA to go down more.

If can buy below $3 why buy at $3.50?

Yes, blue chips are good for a bargain now. Many to choose from. Cash is king. Can buy and wait for them to go up in the next few years
