Chased out of a car accessories shop, this STOMPer says that the shop owner was shouting at him and had even unreasonably accused him of stealing.
The STOMPer says that after walking into the shop, he and his friend realised that there was no one around.
The store keeper, who had heard the friends talking, came out from inside and started to yell at them, saying that the shop was closed.
According to the STOMPer, there was nothing to indicate that the shop was out of bounds except for a chair placed in the doorway.
Confused, he says in an e-mail dated December 21:
“My friend and I got chased out of this car accessories shop at Block 279 Bishan St 24.
“There was no one in the shop when we walked in. I guess the owner heard us talking pretty loudly and came out from the back.
“He started shouting at us and accusing us of stealing because we walked in even though he had placed a chair in the doorway and no one was around.
“If we wanted to steal something would we be talking so loudly? Since when did putting a chair in the doorway (that doesn't even block the doorway) mean the shop is closed and customers cannot enter?
“He pointed to a video camera he had set up on the table and said that camera has captured what we took.
“He chased us out saying he would report us to the police.
“It's funny what some people do to keep themselves out of business.”
