Shanghai Travel Thread

the street i was referring to was wujiang road, near the west nanjing road station. best, cheapest and most diverse street food scene in shanghai, with uigher halal food too.

unfortunately, now i realize the place and other street food places in shanghai are also well known for the use of recycled gutter oil. yikes!

Actually the most happening food street in Shanghai is not far from that Wujiang Road, its called Yunnan Road or 云南美食街. Here too you find lots of uighur muslim and xinjiang food and the most popular is their delicious bbq lamb skewer 羊肉串, but one should not bet its real lamb as cat meat is often known to be a substitute making it taste better.

Have to say have many shiok food but it all comes down to bloody gutter oil. What the hell got to learn from the PRCs and that is - simply assume that you are eating gutter oil, then you won't have to think so much.

yes, sometimes deep fried spicy food is better with recycled "preowned" oil.

Absolutely agree, I am with you on this. :p

although the original chongqing la zi ji recipe calls for chopped up chicken wings, i prefer dices of boneless dark meat from thighs and drumstick.
