But technically speaking, those guns are not rifles.. they are called Sub Machine Gun or Machine Pistols. They shoot the same bullet a smaller gun like Glock does.
Yes is submachine gun (similar like uzi) and fire power is much stronger than rifles.
Rifle got many types.. for modern day rifle... you are referring to Colt M4 (which might be in use by certain law enforcement also especially the carbine version as they have shorter barrel making it easier to move around in CQC scenario) or M16 or even our SAR-21... those are called battle rifles or assault rifles...
Usually rifle uses bigger rounds.. so fire power is much greater I think you are mistaking rifle term for those bolt action rifle used in WW2 and WW1 where each round have to be bolted to eject the expended shell casing and chamber in a new round before it is ready to be shot, but even in WW2, M1 Garand is already is semi-automatic, it fires as fast you as pull the trigger.
So SMG not necessary more stronger than rifles... what you are thinking of is rate of fire... of SMG compared to bolt action rifle which probably not used at all unless you are some kind of sniper.
