Serious SG Special Forces soldier becomes a monk

LTC Fred was well liked during his days as a wing com.

is it rank inflation?
In the old days, the OC of a coy in OCS is a Captain.
Back in 1978, the CO of 1 SIR was CPT Gwee Peng Hong (later promoted to MAJ), who was an OC at 1st Commando Battalion prior to being CO at 1 SIR.
He was from the first batch OCS.
His peers were, MAJ Neo Poh Chuan (CO 3 SIR or 4 SIR), and MAJ Cow Giak Piak (CO 3 SIR or 4 SIR), and LTC Chng Teow Hua (combat engineer officer, who was Comd 2 SIB)

OK
When I was a cadet, instructors were 2LT and LTA, OC was CPT.
At that time, the CO for OCS was a LTC, and thereafter was a MAJ.
May be, now, only regulars who are CPT can be instructors at OCS.
Commandant for SAFTI was Colonel Edward Yong.

Should be.

KNN as a Buddhist monk now he should be honest enough to acknowledge that saf are jiak liao bees and that the rescue attack launched to the hijackers would not have been so smooth if the hijackers were armed with ammunition instead of knifes KNN instead of singing praises KNN not truly repentant KNN

I don't think he is jiakliaobee ...he is super on.

May be, he should use an electric tooth brush, visit a dentist every few months, ask the dentist to do some scaling and polish his teeth.
May be, engage the services of an orthodontist.
wonder why all these sinkie elites in gov sector who are paid in millions and are covered by generous healthcare and dental benefits and privileges do not visit their dentists regularly. at least a visit to dentist every 6.9 months for teeth cleaning and cavity inspection can yield some results for better dental hygiene and health. dentist can recommend deep cleaning to remove guck and plaque from inside their gums and suggest teeth alignment using braces or whitening using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide compounds to give these highly paid elites some form of proper personal presentation and pride, especially when they meet and host dignitaries from abroad. very malu lah for sinkie leeders to grin to the world with bad, crooked, and discolored teeth. they are better off substituted and represented by this emoticon.

SAF never rewards good soldiers. It is all about nepotism.

Good soldiers and officers seldom become BG.
There are many, whom I know, who never made it to Major or Colonel,
such as my buddy instructor, and champion skydiver (once upon a time OC Parachute School), CPT Neo Keng Kok (US trained Ranger, pathfinder, etc.), then MAJ Tham Chee Onn (first batch OCS, youngest to be a Major, at age 23 at that time) who as a commando, was CO of then 7 SIR.
One very good officer and gentleman, graduate of FMC, and an instructor at first batch OCS, LTC Syed Ibrahim (who gave me the nickname "Colonel").

If you are so good, better work for mercenaries or the enemy.

KNN the problem is not everyone can come to term when faced with anticipating death of a loved ones KNN it is very different from a sudden death KNN this idiom is more applicable to having a past relationship with the other party still living KNN love is a punishment it is scary KNN

Fyi it's not an idiom but a marketing slogan

Love is love. Only people make it a punishment.

For sure it is.

OC of Neighbourhood Police Post used to be Insp. Now, it’s Supt. Instead of ‘Post,’ it’s ‘Centre’ now. They don’t call these buggers OC now. They are known as Commanding Officers.

In the land divisions, Commander used to be DSP or Supt. Now, they are AC and SAC rank.

Sadly, standards went down during KBH’s stint. Didn’t help when NJH took over. Current chap is doing a much better job.

In the SPF, do they promote scholars to high ranks quickly so you have young ACs like young BGs in the SAF?

It says a lot about them when the storming of the hijacked SIA plane is used in their folklore .

Compare this with just one unit in the US army-the 75th Ranger Regiment that has fought 16 major campaigns in WW2 (including Morocco, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Anzio and Leyte) and countless battles in the Korean and Vietnam War , Grenada , Panama, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Sama sama. They are a protected breed. Can never do wrong. None of them are able to even handle a primary school riot. Some of these scholars, when serving their IO stint, even shiver if a heavily tattooed accused sits in front for his statement to be recorded.
