[Sg] - Employer called police because maid drank a glass of baby milk without permission

Should have mercy on the Myanmese maid, her country is in chaos, she probably paid her blood sucking agency 6 months salary to secure a job here. Most Myanmese not used to eating bread except rice. If you can afford a maid, give them sufficient food & and provide them with a decent place to sleep. Domestic helpers are people as well, treat them with humanity.
I agree.
Please give the maids or domestic helpers, sufficient nutritious food, a decent comfortable place to sleep, and enough hours to rest, recover and sleep.

I believe that the maid did not commit any criminal offence.
The maid should be allowed to eat and drink, anything, non alcoholic.

Bird's nest, tonic soup, premium coffee. Permission optional.

Other than coffee, I do not know about those.
Those are probably not usual daily household food.
But if the house is having such soup, they may suggest or ask the maid, whether she would like to try some.
Debatable.

PAP should stop this maid thing and get sinkies to start doing their own household work.
If western countries can survive snd progress without maid, so can sinkies.
We got grown ups who seems not able to do snything. Not even cups of coffee.

Yes of course she did not commit any criminal offence. Her employer obviously overreacted. But it's OK, give the police some work to do lah.

It reflects badly on her employer.
If the employer can afford to hire a maid, give her the food or whatever food they have in the house (or inform her, what she is not allowed to touch).
Somehow, I believe that there are a few Singaporeans who have the financial resources, but are not generous to share.

Most sinkies are by nature (or perhaps nurture?) unkind and selfish (self absorbed). Hence, being an underling to a sinkie can be one of the most unpleasant experiences. We are generally not a compassionate society. And this is made worse by the influx of commie chinks and Indian shitskin, who are not known for being compassionate.

Based on what I have read, and based on my observations when I visit Singapore infrequently, it appears that there too many who are not gracious, not compassionate, even when they have more than enough financial resources to pay more and provide more and better food to their maids.
So.much for the "Be Gracious" campaign introduced by one of the politicians.
The country, the government, the schools, and every one has take steps to change or improve. It will make life better, happier for everyone.
Above all, the government and the civil service may wish to take the first steps, such avoid such petty charges against Town Council(s) when the new town council has little time to make a transition.
The police and traffic police can also be more gracious and forgiving, by giving a warning (and a "Have a good day") for minor violations.
Teachers can be more gracious and accommodating.

I agree with what you mentioned. We are not a gracious people. I can see it, and also feel the vibe each time I step out. Perhaps we are tuned to believe that life is a zero sum game. And we generally lack compassion when dealing with people who are at our mercy. In this case, the maid who drank the milk. She is lucky the employer did not cause her bodily harm, like some of her unfortunate colleagues.

i prefer fresh wholesome organic free-range natural non-gmo milk from a lactating milf.

SPOT ON!!!!

I had a maid, when allowed. she made a drink with 5 table spoons of milk powder
SO SOME TIMES THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE

Singaporeans are generally getting lazier due to domestic helpers & grab delivery. In time to come when one ages, lack of physical activity will catch up with your health.

Burmese are savages. Thailand's Ayutthaya ruins are evidence of their historical war crimes.
The Thais have a deep rooted hatre for the Myanmese for plundering vast amount of gold during the war centuries ago

Pardon me for the errors and typos in my earlier post.
Although we are far from being financial wealthy, my spouse from a different racial and cultural background, is more compassionate and generous than me. She as a coin purse full of one dollar and two dollar coins (we called them loonies and toonies) in her purse, and she gives them to the street musicians, apparently homeless, etc. In Dec, I usually hand them a $5 or $10 bill.
My spouse said that it is not what we have. She indicated that an elderly who does not have much, but puts a $5 bill in the church basket, is more generous than those millionaires who puts in $10 or $20, when they can easily slip a $100 bill or cheque in the weekly church envelope.
Unfortunately, I write only a $100 or $200 cheque.
