Marco Borriello was involved in a minor car accident at the weekend but it still doesn't compare to the error he made in letting this beauty slip away
Mar 27, 2012 12:05:00 PM
Today we are going to combine a good story from Serie A with the former girlfriend of a footballer to give you our WAG of the day.
Juventus striker Marco Borriello was filmed over the weekend exhibiting the sort of reckless driving skills more attributed to his on-pitch shooting.
The former Roma and AC Milan man has hardly been a hit since switching to the Turin giants and those with a wicked sense of humour will find great amusement in the lack of accuracy in his driving as he plowed his jeep into a parked car.
It's not his first misjudgement: he managed to let Belen Rodriguez slip through his hands as well as receive a suspension for taking a banned substance in 2007.
That did mean he got to spend more time with Rodriguez, although, that was not necessarily a good thing given that he pinned the drug test failure squarely on Rodriguez's shoulders.
He had used a substance to treat an STD apparently.
She said at the time: "I advised him to use the ointment but forgot it contained cortisone. Our sex session proved fatal."
Fatal to their relationship that is. They broke up in 2008. She still counts though...
Whoever had to take Diego Forlan's arm from Zaira Nara would have to be something special and it looks like his current girlfriend is just that
Mar 28, 2012 11:40:00 AM
Wednesday's WAG of the day is awarded to Victoria Saravia, girlfriend of Inter Milan's Diego Forlan. I know what you're thinking - how incredibly topical, given Inter are in the news now that they have a brand new manager! I know, Extra Time can't thank you enough.
So who is she? Well Saravia is a Uruguayan model and presenter. "Aren't they all?" I hear you shout... "Yes!" we reply, "they are..."
Anyway enough of this awful dialogue, it reads like a script written by a three-year-old. On to more pertinent matters - what are her credentials?
Well, she is an experienced WAG having dated Forlan's former international teammate Carlos Bueno. Though, she did claim Forlan is top of the pile - probably immediately following his fantastic showing in the summer's Copa America.
She's an underwear model and has featured in a TV programme called 'Bienes Gananciales' which I believe translates to 'Conjugal'. In other words it's about marital relations and that sounds absolutely riveting....

Serie A preview: Stramaccioni eyes first points in Inter hot seat
30 March 2012
New Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni takes charge of his first Serie A match against Genoa on Sunday, while Juventus host Napoli.Stramaccioni became Inter's third manager this season after Claudio Ranieri was sacked on Monday, and the club's former Under-20 coach must immediately turn their results around if they are to sneak into a European place for next season.
"As the president said yesterday: 'We have to win'. I have faith in the players, in the club and in myself," Stramaccioni said. "We'll take each game as it comes."His first assignment in charge is a visit from Genoa, who are winless in eight games and struggling just seven points above the relegation zone. Inter's 2-0 loss in the Derby d'Italia against Juventus last week leaves them languishing in seventh on the table, seven points behind Udinese in the final Europa League qualifying spot.
Meanwhile, league leaders AC Milan will be looking to extend their four-point lead over Juventus when they travel to Catania on Saturday. With Juventus not playing until Sunday, Massimiliano Allegri's side can put the pressure on their rivals with a win at the Stadio Angelo Massimino. Milan were a touch lucky to escape with a 0-0 draw in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Barcelona at the San Siro on Wednesday, and Allegri may elect to rest some of his first-choice players with an eye on the second leg at the Camp Nou next week.
That may be a risky ploy however, given that Catania are unbeaten in seven matches and defeated third-placed Lazio two weeks ago. Also on Saturday, Lazio travel to Parma as they look to cement third spot and a berth in the Champions League. Napoli are pressing hard to earn a place in Europe's premier club competition though, and travel to Juventus on Sunday. Walter Mazzarri's side are three points behind Lazio, but Juventus have just as much incentive to win as they continue their chase of Milan at the top of the table.
Cesena travel to Lecce in a match that could decide the top-flight status of both clubs. Cesena are bottom of the table and look destined to go down, but a win for 18th-placed Lecce would go a long way to helping them close the five-point gap to safety. Novara, too, will be hopeful of picking up enough points to survive over the final nine games, but face a challenging trip to the Italian capital to face Roma on Sunday. Also in action on Sunday are Fiorentina, who host Chievo, while Atalanta go in search of three points at Cagliari and Palermo travel to Bologna.

Lazio are ready to part company with head coach Edy Reja at the end of the season and have lined up Gianfranco Zola as his replacement, Corriere dello Sport reports.
Reja has guided the Biancoceleste to third spot in the Serie A table, but they have been struggling to find their best form in recent weeks.
The Rome side have lost three of their last four league games, and face stiff competition from Napoli and Udinese in the race for third spot.
Reja attempted to resign from his position as head coach earlier this season, but Lazio president Claudio Lotito refused to accept his decision to step down.
Nevertheless, Lotito has now supposedly had enough of Lazio's inconsistency under Reja, and will give the 66-year-old the sack after their last game of the season.
The Lazio supremo has already made a decision on who will replace Reja, as he considers Zola to the perfect man for the job.
The former Chelsea forward has been out of work since getting the sack at West Ham United in the summer of 2010.

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has hit out at Inter for the way they treat their coaches, in the wake of Claudio Ranieri's recent sacking.
The 60-year-old was relieved of his duties on Monday, despite numerous indications from Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti that his job would be safe until the summer.
Galliani has now asserted that the Rossoneri's policy of criticising coaches is far fairer than others, who stay silent before firing their trainers.
"The difference between us and the others is that we criticise our coaches, but keep them," Galliani told reporters at the airport as his side prepared to travel to Sicily to face Catania.
"Others stay silent, then sack them."
AC Milan drew 0-0 with Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday, and despite admitting that maintaining possession was a tough task, coach Massimiliano Allegri stated that Silvio Berlusconi was satisfied with his team's performance.
"In Italy, we normally have the most possession. With Barcelona, this is more difficult, but in reality, we're only second to them in Europe.
"Berlusconi was pleased with the performance. I gave him, because I have to, an explanation on how the team played and he gave his thoughts as well.
"We know that we must suffer at times when you play the best team in the world. But it had been 34 games since Barcelona failed to score."
Finally, Allegri acknowledged that Juventus will prove tough opposition as the Serie A title race heads into the final stretch, but called upon his team to make their current four-point advantage count.
"If Juve haven't lost this season, then it means that they have the quality to win the league. Now it's crucial that we stay ahead of them.
"We have four points more than them, and we'll fight until the end."

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri was left impressed with Juventus in Sunday's 3-0 defeat against Antonio Conte's men.
The Partenopei were on the back foot for most of the match and were ultimately punished by goals from Leonardo Bonucci, Arturo Vidal and Fabio Quagliarella, all in the second half.
"You can lose to Juventus in Turin, the only question is how this will happen," Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.
"We played on par with Juve until they scored their second goal, then we stopped working as a unit and we became nervous.
"After so many matches, we have lost a bit of sharpness, while Juventus are defensively very solid and we suffered a lot against their physicality.
"Giorgio Chiellini can mark all three men by himself and it is impossible to get past him. We were unlucky in Juventus' first goal, but we reacted well and went in search of an equaliser.
"But after Arturo Vidal's wondergoal, we dropped our level considerably and we were never able to get back into the game."
Napoli lie in fourth position in the Serie A standings, three points behind Lazio, who lost to Parma 3-1 on Saturday.
Atalanta's Masiello arrested for alleged involvement in Scommessopoli
The former Bari player is the latest to be detained for his supposed connections to the betting scandal that has rocked the Italian football world
Apr 2, 2012 7:50:00 AM
Atalanta defender Andrea Masiello has been arrested by Italian police on Sunday night for his alleged involvement in the betting scandal that has rocked Serie A, La Gazzetto dello Sportreports.
A number of Bari games from the 2009-10 campaign are being investigated as there are suspicions that the following matches, Bari-Lecce, Palermo-Bari, Bari-Sampdoria, Bari-Chievo, Bologna-Bari and Udinese-Bari, were fixed.
Masiello, who wore the Bari jersey from 2008 until 2011, recently stated that he is happy to coordinate with the police in their investigation into 'Scommessopoli', but the Bari prosecutor decided to order his arrest at the weekend.
Italian paper La Repubblica reports that the 26-year-old has sent a note to the prosecutor in which he admits that he deliberately scored an own-goal in the match between Bari and Lecce.
"When the score was 0-1, I took advantage of an opportunity, I was given an order to assure the defeat and get the payment I had been promised," Masiello allegedly wrote.
"This way, I scored the own goal, which killed off the game."
Aside from Masiello, (former) Bari players such as Daniele Portanova, Alessandro Parisi, Simone Bentivoglio, Marco Rossi, Abdelkader Ghezzal, Marco Esposito, Antonio Bellavista and Nicola Belmonte are reportedly also being monitored by the police in the ongoing investigation.
Former Italy internationals Giuseppe Signori and Cristiano Doni had previously been arrested for allegedly playing a role in the scandal.
