TABLA! - the new English-language newspaper aimed at the Indian community - was officially launched yesterday.
After a presentation at the Zee Carnival, the paper was launched at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas business conference at Suntec City.
India's Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi and Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry S. Iswaran played the tabla to mark the launch.
Tamil Murasu chairman S. Chandra Das said tabla! aims to better serve the needs of the growing Indian diaspora. There are more than 200,000 Indian expatriates here.The Singapore Press Holdings paper is distributed free every Friday. Readers who would like it delivered to their homes, need to pay $28 a year.
