Every S'porean wants an Opposition In Parliament; just not in their constituency. Residents fear they won't get a SMRT line, and if they have a station, the train may not be allowed to stop there if PAP loses the election in that ward.

This mothetfucker has no path to winning yet try to cockblock others from trying to win

It anomaly for opposition to score better during GE than BE. 38.77% vs 45.2%, more than 7% swing.

Only plausible explanation was Murali screwed up on local issues and wasn't a well like MP.

On the national front, just can't find any reason for the ground not to be sweeter for opposition compared to 4yr ago.

CSJ got a practical chance of winning provided BB SMC still exist.
If CSJ or any opposition party cannot win BB, they have no chance to win in any other constituency, BB is the easiest constituency to win, no?

(Bloomberg) — The average Singaporean voter is content and prioritises bread-and-butter issues ahead of geopolitics in their voting considerations, according to a BlackBox Research survey.

Over 80% of about 1500 respondents are satisfied with the city-state’s trajectory, a sign of confidence in the government with a national vote to be held by November. Optimism among younger citizens aged 21-29 was “particularly pronounced,” based on the survey conducted March 28 to April 8.

Still, about three in 10 of the Singaporeans polled are undecided on who they will vote for, according to the results released on Friday. The under 30s and the lower-income households showed more voter uncertainty.

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong had a stable approval rating of 75%, Opposition leader Pritam Singh’s popularity rose 7 points to 71% from the previous quarter despite his conviction in February for lying to a parliament committee.

“This election won’t necessarily come down to personalities or geopolitics – there are a lot of votes to be won on the ground,” BlackBox CEO David Black said. “Election campaigning will revolve around the day to day issues, so the parties and their candidates will need to be at the ready or suffer for it.”

While cost of living, jobs and housing affordability are top of mind for Singaporeans, international developments including the impact of tariffs and US-China ties also have an influence on voter sentiment, according to the survey. The BlackBox poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5%.

It will make it harder, it will be slower to refresh and renew the team, and I think Singaporeans themselves are concerned about this.”

With the upcoming GE to be held in a time of great global uncertainty and turbulence, “who you have in the cockpit matters”, he added. “Singaporeans will have to decide on the team they trust to navigate the storm and chart the way forward for our nation.”

The PAP’s manifesto and election messages will have to address voters’ concerns about global uncertainty, said PM Wong. These include the possibility of a recession, the impact on jobs and the unravelling of the global system.
