SDP to Contest Bt Panjang

Do the people support pointing the laws got broken or not. THe pap laws are all bullshit. You got to bear that in mind that it is the people that decide if laws are a guide to proper order. People are not going to give in to this bullshit at the moment. The law si already self-serving and you talk about laws. wahahha!!!

To be fair, Thailand has its fair share of bullshits of its own. As a Buddhist monarchy, prostitution has been officially declared illegal in absolute terms (unlike Singapore where there're legally recognised and regulated redlight districts). However, prostitution remains one of Thailand's top industry as anyone who knows anything about Thailand knows.

However, to be fair again, when the Thais got fedup, they rised up and fight. The disposing of Thaksin by yellows was mainly rooted fromThaksin's anti-vice policies affecting many hotels, tourist businesses and of course the "shareholders" and "directors" (mostly from army and police). Now the reds got fedup and counter attack in full force and fury.

Singaporeans when they got fedup will just ask, why so few opposition? Why opposition don't do or say this or that? Opposition no good, useless. Vote PAP again. Back to square one. Fedup yours yourself.

Yes, Mr Ramseth.

every country has is goods and bads. It is which types of goods you will agreed with and which type of bads that turns you off.

I like people who has courage to do things and have their own mind and say in things. If these sort of things is taken away from you, how good the infrastructure is becomes totally meaningless.

You can be successful in Thailand or anywhere in the world, you do not need a govt to help you to be successful.

I personally don't think very highly of CSJ's tactics and action, but I must say that I respect his mettle and guts for standing for what he believe in.

CSJ seems to have a martyr complex and he seems to inspire this in the small number of people who follow him. He can actually be a very potent symbol for SDP if they know how to play the cards correctly.

If I were SDP, I would take a strong stand on vice, namely the prostituition situation in Singapore. The confrontational tactics favoured by the SDP will draw widespread attention. And unlike the previous moral causes SDP had tried to champion, it is very easy to get solid empirical evidence of the vice situation in Singapore.

Once SDP has shone the spotlight on these dirty little secrets, they will be able to damage the PAP tremendously. SDP will tap into the feeling that the PAP has become morally corrupt. This feeling has been building over the PAP related scandals that have made the news lately. From a political viewpoint, it will be very difficult for the PAP to come up with counterpoints to justify why the vice should be allowed to continue.

I got this feeling that you're being carried away by your crusader complex. What little secrets? I don't believe any PAP MP has any "dirty little secret" with the "prostitution situation." I don't discount any possibility of some of them having secret affairs (especially in the light of the Jack Neo scandal) but that has nothing to do with the prostitution situation.

Wrong use of terms I suppose. I stand corrected that it is not really a "secret" as the PAP MPs have been openly allowing prostituition to blossom in their GRC. Yes .. yes ... I know it is legal and hard to prosecute. This however doesn't mean that as a morally upright and responsible MP, you should do nothing and allow the situation to fester. I was under the impression that the PAP wore all white because they wanted to convey the message they are "clean" and "righteous".

The PAP MPs for Jalan Besar should be made to answer their constiuients as to why they have allowed the vice activities to blossom in their GRC. Goh Meng Seng has implemented a Minister specific policy to hold Minister Mah accountable. So far, this has proven to be quite effective. A strategy of targetting the vice activites in Jalan Besar to hold the MPs there accountable would be a natural extension of this strategy.

The PAP Jalan Besar GRC team currently comprises 1 Muslim (Yaacob Ibrahim) and 2 ladies (Lily Neo and Denise Phua). Only Lee B.Y. and Heng C.H. may look remotely near those tolerant of prostitution type. Yet, they won the election. Jalan Besar was contested last three elections, not walkovers. Anyway, both Lee B.Y., Heng C.H. and Lily Neo may be moving on. With NSP out of SDA, the Sebastian Teo team should be seeing some changes too. Let's see how.

So far no Minister announced for Jalan Besar. If it is Yacob heading, what do you want to hold him accountable for? Flooding in Bukit Timah? Somehow that just doesn't capture the imagination. If SDP or NSP wants to have a decent chance, they need to have a political issue which resonates with the voters.

Since this is Lee B Y's old ward, I wonder if they will move the strong handed rear admiral here. If he comes here and WC2010 is a bust, then that would be a good issue to campaign on although it seems quite light weight.

SDP should consider contesting Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC. Last GE, SDA fielded a weak team and still managed to garnered 31%. The GRC is filled with mostly new towns, with plenty of post-1965 voters, who are internet savvy. Should be advantage to SDP.

that mean PAP Pasir Ris-Punggol team won by a thrashing margin of 40%. How do you win 20% more this time to get 51%.?

The best chances in pure maths is Choa Chu Kang SMC, just 2500 more votes, you defeat zhu ba jie and win the SMC.

Even though i dont have a good view of him last time round, i still vote for him last time round for PAP carrots. But damn PAP supporters r too stupid and now woodlands are in such a terrible state >.> Want to vote, also vote smart...stupid pap supporters.

But my view of CSJ has changed. He is a doctor and yet he is wasting time trying to fight for his beliefs. He is a true fighter, salute. People views of him are colored by the PAP newspapers and i admited, last time i am the same. Only goons believed in the PAP news and their remarks now.

He was charged, fined, cornered, flamed by the PAPs and yet he still fights. Come on, at least he got the guts to do so, so give him some credits bros. How come so many still vote in the lying PAP and yet, believes CSJ to be worse than PAP? It is politics, he has to find issues, cannot be so pussy mah. Even the PAP find issues with him too.

Last time round, SDA's Tampines GRC team did no much better at 33%, so did the team at Jalan Besar GRC 31 to 33%. Sembawang SDP team did much worse below 25%. My point is SDP should contest GRCs with more new and younger voters, to boost their chances of winning. If they send a strong team to Pasir Ris-Punggol, and with the new voters' support, some vote swing due to much more unhappiness this time round, & SDP's strong online presence, could be in for a good fight.

QAMK GRC may be a good bet for the oppositions. The last election, a team of rookies can garner 30%+ of votes against the PAP team led by the PM, this will be be good momentum to tramp them, especially probably no one know what exactly the PM had done for the residents, and that jamban lady too. Other than that, btw, who are the other MPs in that GRC ?

Last election, my friend staying in AMK, did not even seen the PAP team. But the WP's team kept going around the estate. Just that the States Time preferred to printt them in their tired state.

Send in a team, even rookies who can identify with the ground, may just topple the PAP team !

fatty Gan Kim Yong won by a 20% margain last GE but that is just 5000 votes.
2500 votes change sides and our oppositions will win the seat.

Does Steve Chia want to give CCK SMC one last shot?

Simplistic thinking... so easy 2,500 votes changes side.

This time if Steve Chia contest CCK SMC again. He likely to lose more than 20% margin

what vice activities blossoming in Jln Besar? better not blindly yell out like mad dog without doing homework. its only confined to petian and desker, which is a legal area.
PAP is one step ahead, they have lots of those cisco guys patrolling around the neighbourhood. very visible these days.

thinking in pure maths.
Aljunied GRC is the closest, just a 12% gap, 6% changes sides and the seat is won but the 6% is 8000 votes.
so which is easier?

the rest of the GRC/SMC aren't worth a mention because the defeated margin is too big.

To swing the 2,500 or 8,000 votes we need politicians like Francis Seow, JBJ or Tang Liang Hong.

I dun think Steve Chia or even Sylvia Lim can do it

CCK SMC have a high profile Manpower Minister so unlikely opposition will win.

Maybe opposition parties have better chances in Joo Chiat SMC if they fielded the right candidate there
