Civil disobedience is to break unjust laws. In this sense, SDP will oppose anything that is unjust.

For eg, Case can conduct a protest march but opposition cannot. PAP MP can speak freely, opposition MP cannot.

SDP protests like any one would. But they have not been able to give the alternative answer. is theri fall in the number of votes and seats all just because of the PAP? it is presumptious to say the SDP's downfall was caused by the ruling party.

All the negative portrayal of and lies spread by the media have influenced voters perception of Chee and SDP badly. The threats by PAP against voters in the GRCs SDP contested also played a part in pulling down SDP votes.

PAP uses very subtle and sophisticated methods, some above board, others underhand, to deal with political opponents which are not easy for someone with a crude mind like yours to detect.

SDP, WP, NSP, SPP etc all were not running for govt. They were just trying to win more parliamentary seats. As opposition MPs, they would be running the town councils, voiced their constituents' concerns and scrutinised Govt's policies.

Likewise, PAP MPs don't come out with policies as well. Those are the jobs of the cabinet and the civil service.

LTK is being very realistic to state publicly that WP, the strongest opposition party, is not ready to form the next government. Other weaker opposition parties, like WP, are focusing their resources to win more seats and attract more members, which already are uphill tasks for the oppositions.

When the opposition, particularly WP, grow stronger and stronger and win more and more parliamentary seats, they will be able to compete with PAP to form the next govt in elections.
