When I tapped my ez-link card it showed there was no money. To my dismay, I found I had no coins either. I apologised to the driver and told him I would get down at the next stop. I was pleasantly surprised when he said it was okay, that I need not alight, but to just remember to top up. His act of kindness made my day. On the way back, at about 1.45pm, I again took service 45 (SBS8395J) and was surprised to be greeted by another driver. As I sat in the bus, I noticed that he greeted everyone who came aboard. People who got on with a serious face broke into a smile once greeted by the driver. Kindness and courtesy make a world of difference to people like us who use public transport almost daily.'
