All these floods are in some part credited to global warming. In Spore's case it's made worse by all the man made structures being built. I notice that steps are being taken to build up Thomson Rd, Syed Alwi Rd,... but I don't think it's possible to raise the whole of Spore.

I understand that they've got some Dutch expert company come study this and do something about it, probably build a wall around it la, I mean this is really possible if want to do it. I think I came across this Dutch study thing a few years ago wonder what's happening now.

Jah the situation is like this

- this project is build on a raised ground and the basement carpark is actually not really basement so no worries about any flood
- however when flood comes all electric power will be shut for safety reason like people getting electrocuted
- on top of that the nearby Pluit power plant was under 3m of water so everything also shut
- most buildings and houses has their own generators but they are running on fuel and can be depleted too
- once you have no electricity, you don't have light, you don't have water from the tab because pump not working
- refrigerator also shut inside food can get spoiled
- for those who don't keep food at home also cannot go out makan because all the shops flooded
- of course the worst thing is your mobile phone battery run out, modem cannot use, you are isolated
- and you just wait and wait and wait hoping your drinking water will not run out
- and for me I think I can go crazy so I needed to make a hit for the airport

They can call in all the experts in the world but what good will it do if PM Lee will not listen or decides to have one of his cronies run the show

I get the impression that many of the new generation of civil servants are ...incompetent ball carriers :o They have succeeded because they know how to play the political game. The good people have been marginalise because they are too honest.

I can understand people like LKY & his son being corrupted since they've been taken advantage of Spore for so long.
However people like Ho Ching, Saw,... are not royalty & must remember their past roots
