Samsung the best 100 Million Units.. iphone can drop dead

When M1 was experiencing technical problems I initially worried that the problem was with my SE W810. Been looking around to get a backup for my 8+ year very reliable candy phone.

Do they still make those simple phones, the small & light ones that are easy to use  Had a Nokia before going with Sony Ericsson but have forgotten all those shortcuts:o

This W810 is a fantastic phone....I had it for a good 3 years....only made the switch to smartphones after I lost the W810. Till today it has some basic functions that I want as wish list on my iPhone as standard features.

Simple functions such as call/msg/data logs, camera resolution adjustments, alarms, call diverting functions....things I can't get on my iPhone now without jail breaking or downloading apps.

I did my homework before getting it because back then it cost almost $800. Have owned other SE phones like the T68, T610,.....but this is the best. Unfortunately I lost them all & decided on a cheap Nokia. Until I saw the 810. It was the Galaxy/iPhone of it's day:)

The only thing I've had to do was replace the battery. It's a great small & light phone. The only limitation for me is the limited number of notes you can create. I've created notes on public holidays, prices list, shopping list, flight details,..etc

Can make coffee too? :p:D

Fair comment. Just that there are fans from opposing camps, championing (unsolicited) their cause. Even gays are Apples too:p

If I have to get a new Android phone this year, I'll get Sony Xperia Z.

Samsung's cheap plastic and pentile AMOLED screen don't appeal to me.

Xperia Z

iPhones will still be around no matter what Android does.... can't say the same for Windows phones.

Try a nokia 8800, I'm still using the same one for 10 years. Get in quick before they decide not to make them anymore. Try also Vertu if you have the dole. Either that, many chinese made "simple" phones are out there. Try dx.com.

In relation to this thread. Here is something I've observed about Apple products, its never about the volume they are after. ;)

There are also cheap candybar Nokia phones which are great for 2G services, have great battery life and are durable.

Some of the newer ones can even let you surf the web, have 2 SIM card slots and have a touch screen.

i saw this phone review and I think is a joke, do you always immerse your phone in the water just to show off your phone? I think Sony really lost its directions, water proof as a selling point? what a joke!!! :D:D:D:D

I think its a good selling point. I find the current phones too fragile.......road warriors on the go would appreciate a tough phone.
The 1st generations of motorolas were great........shock and water resistant.......i had a nokia 5510 which was water proof as well.......

Shock resistant or water resistant as side selling point are ok, but shouldn't be the main selling point.

Browsed through, just launched in these parts -but not out by telcos yet (1Q?). If water's not your thing, then ZL version? :p

Cool, classy design. Not so showy with gizmos like others including Samseng. Choice is personal, depending on what 1's looking for. Or follow the hordes with popular 2 main makes.

Not techie, but my 2 year Motorola Milestone's giving up on the battery (daily charging, despite hardly any talk time). Wonder what's the price range without signing off your life?

1) A phone running Android 4.1.2.

2) Sony's sexy hardware design.

3) Fantastic camera.

4) Works flawlessly with other Sony hardware.

5) BRAVIA display.

6) Playstation Mobile.

What more selling points do you want?
