isn't there the food fare by NTUC? SGD$1.99 for chupchaipeng *conditions apply
else it's $2.50
http://www.foodfare.com.sg/rice-garden.html

What *conditions apply* ?? you mean, you go buy, they ask " member", you say, No! &, I support NSP, PP, Wp etc..your price $2.50, like that?

It's not even $2.50, once I went to a chapchaipng stall in an NTUC foodfare, ordered rice with 2 veggies and 1 sliced fish (not whole fish hor, sweet and sour sliced fish), it came up to $4.40.
The lady told me the fish was 2 big slices. :(
Next time must remember to show my, errrrr, I mean, say I'm - "member". :D

Any time of fish, or prawn, or crab, or sotong = seafood price = very, very expensive.

The price of a seafood item is more expensive than the price of a meat item, so don't be fooled into thinking that since fish is also a kind of meat, it must also follow the price of meat items.

BTW, here was what Pinky had said about rising food prices in 2012:

"But I think as long as the Singapore economy is doing well and as long as we have resources, we will deal with this," he added.

The price of the sliced fish is not the same as that of a whole fish in most coffeeshop chapchaipng stalls.
Some of these stalls charge slightly more than meat for the sliced fish, others charge the same.
Obviously, if you buy a whole fish as one of the items in any stall, the meal can easily go to $4.50 or more.

Shouldn't it be airflown sashimi?

Or is that only for members of his "exceptional" family..............................

Hokkaido water too

2 big slices with a magnifying glass

If we can get 2 meat and 2 non-meat items economy rice for $2.50 thanks to the PAP, I will give them my vote. It is easy to win over sinkee votes.
