Victim's widow hires lawyer

THE widow of the man who died in last month's hit-and-run case involving the Romanian embassy car has engaged prominent criminal lawyer Subhas Anandan. Madam Yenny Young's husband, Mr Tong Kok Wai, was one of three men hit by the Audi A6 on Dec 15 in Bukit Panjang. The 30-year-old assistant manager suffered severe head injuries. He died when he was taken off life support on Christmas Day. The other two men, aged 18 and 24, were hurt but survived. Mr Subhas told The Sunday Times he agreed to take up the case when Madam Young approached him to 'do what I can for her'. 'So I thought I should help,' he said, adding that he was doing so pro bono.
