THE widow of the man who died in last month's hit-and-run case involving the Romanian embassy car has engaged prominent criminal lawyer Subhas Anandan. Madam Yenny Young's husband, Mr Tong Kok Wai, was one of three men hit by the Audi A6 on Dec 15 in Bukit Panjang. The 30-year-old assistant manager suffered severe head injuries. He died when he was taken off life support on Christmas Day. The other two men, aged 18 and 24, were hurt but survived. Mr Subhas told The Sunday Times he agreed to take up the case when Madam Young approached him to 'do what I can for her'. 'So I thought I should help,' he said, adding that he was doing so pro bono.

SINGAPORE - The police have concluded their investigations into the Bukit Panjang hit-and-run accident involving a Romanian Embassy car.

A police spokeswoman said on Sunday that the investigation papers are now with the Attorney-General's Chambers "for their direction on the appropriate course of action to be taken".

On December 15, at about 3.10am, a black Audi A6 hit three pedestrians along Bukit Panjang Road. One victim, Mr Tong Kok Wai, 30, suffered brain damage and died on Christmas Day, while two others suffered injuries.

Dr Silviu Ionescu, the charge d'affaires at the Romanian Embassy here, reported later to the police that the vehicle had been stolen. He left for Romania shortly after the accident, citing treatment for his diabetes.

Mr Tong's widow has now engaged the services of criminal lawyer Subhas Anandan.

The case has sparked interest in the Romanian media, with newspapers and Internet sites picking up news reports here on the incident.

Last week, it was reported that Romania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked its Prosecutor's Office to launch an investigation into the incident, following the ministry's "internal investigation" into the matter.

Nevertheless, the police spokeswoman stated on Sunday that they "have not handed the investigation file to the Romanian Prosecutor's Office".

Whats the point? He has diplomatic immunity and now that he is back in the land of Indian gypsies, don't expect him to come back as we have no extradition treaty with those an nehs pretending to be ang mohs. At most he'll be declared persona non grata and MFA won't lift its fat finger to create a diplomatic headache for itself.

Hire a lawyer but the diplomat whose pay is more than the judge and the lawyer .

The diplomat pays everyone but the victim .

The victim can just swap flies .
