Rhinestone Cowboy had a catchy tune and rhythm, but Wichita Lineman showcased his vocals better. Galveston was great. Another favourite of mine is Gentle On My Mind:

I can hear you singing in the wire...I can hear you thru the whine..Wichita Lineman is still on the line...by the time I get to phoenix, she will be rising...she will find the note I left hanging by the door..She looks in the mirror and stares at the wrinkles
That weren't there yesterday, And thinks of the young man she almost married..what would he think he saw her this way? I have been walking the streets so long...

And goes on & on...remember him playing the tune Pacific Gas & many others...& songs from Jimmy Webb...will certainly miss such a legendary country & crossover...singer!..." I can still hear you singing in the wire...Glen!"...ha ha ha

Whenever I hear Wichita Lineman it brings me back to my childhood in the 60's listening to Redifusion cable radio. Especially the guitar solo reminiscent of the Magnificent Seven theme or the Marlboro Man cigarette commercial.

Yup, he was a great guitar player. In the recent Alice Cooper interview, Cooper said that even eddie Van Halen came to Campbell for guitar lessons.
