its simply a garrison....a choke point where the malays call the shots in this region

no trade can take place if malaysia and indonnesia decides no ship shall sail through the straits of malacca or sunda straits

PAP better initiate the start of a euthanising industry. Gotta get the legislative part up and running. Otherwise if they don't do that, many will jump and leave behind a mess that will cascade into all banks and industries. Then the rst will get affected too.

Its better to arrange for an orderly 'leaving' so that no loose ends are left untied and the rest of us can go on.

I can think of so many positives for this....like for example, public resources do need need to be activated like police, scdf, HSA, etc. when somebody jumps. No trains need to be delayed when they jump in front of the train. No distasteful water in our pipes when they drown themselves at reservoirs. No marine police search and rescue when they do it at sea. No drama and no trauma for the family too.

Everybody has time to say goodbye and debts repaid nicely. And you have a whole new industry up and running.
