Sammyboy forummers attack the person rather than the issue

Sammyboy forummers have a bad habit: They attack the poster, rather than attack the issue.

This behaviour pattern is most clearly seen in TracyTan866's threads. See http://www.sammyboy.com/showthread.php?t=87279 for just one example.

In that above thread, TracyTan866 raised the issue of polytechnic hostels rented to foreigners only, but banning SG students from renting hostels. This is discrimination against Singaporeans in favour of foreigners.

However, a few forummers who posted there, even though many have in the past professed to be pro Opposition, they instead criticized TracyTan866 and even sided with PAP.

wikiphile for instance made nonsensical comment about foreign student hailing all the way from Thailan and Laos, and thus they should be entitled unlike SG student who come from Pasir Ris. This is fucked up.

Other forummers who posted in the same thread did not make any helpful comment at all.

NONE OF THE FORUMMERS CRITICIZED THE PAP. This is truly surprising.

It is well known that some forummers don't like TracyTan because they think she is butch/lesbian/fake female.

This however is an example of attacking the poster but not attacking the issue.

It shouldn't be a matter of locals or foreigners, it should be first come first served, at same rental rates. Most locals don't want it anyway, that's true, but those who want it and need it should be allowed to. Not all foreigners want it too. Some can afford and prefer rental flats outside. The policy of foreigners-only hostels is not only unfair and insulting to Singaporeans but also goes against the notion of local-foreign integration. At night, the whole campus would turn into an exclusive foreign enclave.

I have been told that Republic Poly has reserved its student hostel accommodation for foreign students. The rooms are rented out to foreign students at preferential and subsidised rates. Singaporeans are not eligible to rent student hostel accommodation.

Some SG students who are staying far away from RP have resorted to rent nearby Woodlands HDB flats at market rates which is much higher than the hostel rates. Why shd SG students be discriminated and not be eligible for RP student accommodation? Some of the students have done their 2-yr National Service and they are frustrated. All they want is to be allowed to rent RP student hostel accommodation. Is that too much to ask as these have been offerred to foreign studens?

Why is the pap discriminating against Singapore RP students and favour foreign students?

It's only in Singapore that the govt discriminate against its own citizen and favour foreigners.

Time for Singaporeans to speak out against PAP's discrimination against its own citizens

Oh yeah, you are so right, when RP decided on a foreigner-only policy they forgot to consult you, when PAP decided to bring in the foreigners they also forgot to consult you.

if want to argue on this issue, this is my 5 cent view.

RP is very easily accessible to almost every part of sg as its near MRT. most part of sg can reach that stupid place in at most 1 hr and 30 mins including 1 bus ride to mrt, and mrt ride to woodland.

hostel fee is fucking expensive as compared to travelling everyday via bus and mrt. to which ever bai kah zai that is studying in that fuck up poly, and still want to live in hostel. i suggest that family to give up that useless son.

HOWEVER, if the same issue happened in NTU, then i am with you on this. for NTU is really too inaccessible unlike RP.
