Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

They are trying to tell the public that it is the disobedient sinkie's fault for feeding the stray dogs ( on hindsight), now because of them the TC has to waste sgd120k.:(

Lets come together, blame and hate those feeders of strays.

Yet we have to be a compassionate and cohesive society.:D

Who is dividing us and bullshitting us because of their incompetence and laziness:rolleyes:

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

Has the man-hours been factored into this computation?

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

Worth. Very worth! All the time spent in grassroot paying dividends!

Now just need to release a few rats in some other estate a few months later another sweet bonanza.

Altogether now!

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

is it possible to boost gdp by spending your own money?

if you trust the gdp formula gdp = c + i + g + (x-m) where:

c denotes consumer spending
i denotes business investment
g denotes government expenditure
x denotes exports
m denotes imports

then the answer is yes. :D

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

All PAP TC will be raising their charges to residents next year, citing the cost of controlling rats as a reason.

It is not the GDP number that matters, it is the distribution of gdp. Having top 20 percent commanding 80 percent of the wealth does NOT benefit the majority of sinkees.

yes, it does. we're in 100% agreement. :D

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

$120k divided by 230 rats = that's about $520 per rat. I doubt most Sinkies get that much money from the govt in a calendar year.

Even an IPPT gold award is only worth $400. :D

You have to be a rat to get that. White rats get more.

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

Will our investigate PAP Press tell us if the exterminator is owned by a PAP crony?

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

So basically PAP paid 120k for 230 rats to be cooked and eaten?I'm pretty sure importing 10 Vietnamese could have been far cheaper.

Re: $120K spent on exterminating 230 rats. Value for money?

The high fee is to catch the rates alive, prepare some holes in Aljunied GRC before releasing them discreetly. If not caught by Stompers or other kay pohs, can get extra bonus.

IMHO, based on the GDP formula, Sillypore's doesn't really have much "real growth" in the economy.
The Silyypore gahbrament has ran out of ideas and can now only sustain it's growth by means of consumer spending.

c = Sillypore gahbrament is now trying to promote the service industry and growing the population
i = business investment (FDI) into Sillypore has been getting lesser each year
g = gahbrament spending on unnecessary projects and wasted tons of $$$ on some stupid investments
x = exports keep going down hill for the past few years
m = Sillypore's rate of imports has been getting higher each year
