Not sure about others but GMS got my attention by highlighting it in this way. I actually read the article, whereas I might have just skimmed through it quickly otherwise.
For once, I thought the press actually put the opposition in rather a good light.
As an ordinary singaporean reading the article, the two things I remember about it are the picture of NSP and Seb Teo helping to deliver food to the poor, and a recollection of VB's remarks "How much do you want?" and "Do you want to have your 3 meals in a hawker centre, food court, or restaurant?"
Most people who get financial assistance from the government may not read the article, but there will be many people who mostly eat at hawker centres and food courts and only occasionally at restaurants, who are not going to be happy.
It also begs the interesting question if the boundaries are not redrawn in Jalan Besar, which pap member will go over there, especially the guy to replace Dr Lee.
