[h=1]14-05-25: Tea With Li Lian[/h]Updated <abbr title="Monday, May 26, 2014 at 12:14am" data-utime="1401034497" class="timestamp">last Sunday</abbr>
This afternoon, residents from Blk 142 to 159A Rivervale Crescent came together for yet another instalment of Tea with Li Lian. MP Miss Lee Li Lian bonded with residents over tea and a simple but appetising buffet, complete with chin chow (perfect for the weather) and samosas. Tea with Li Lian is a great way for her and volunteers in the Punggol East team to chit-chat with residents about local issues as well as our day-to-day lives in Singapore. As a Punggol East resident myself, it’s always a pleasure to get to know my neighbours. What better way to do that than over a cuppa?

I've met this uncle very frequently during my events or estate walks. Since GE 2011, he has been very supportive of the work I do. The last time I met him was during our Hammer outreach at Rivervale Plaza about a month ago. It's good to see him as fit as the first time I met him
Tea with Li Lian:
If you are a Punggol East SMC resident residing in the vicinity of Blk 107A Rivervale Walk, join us this Sunday, 22 Jun, 4pm for tea!
A committee will be set up to review moneylending regulations. This committee will be looking at restricting the total amount a person can borrow and capping interest rates.
It would be better if the committee can also look into the feasibility of putting a cap to the number of such businesses in each HDB town, a PQ which I have brought up in Parliament in Jan 2014.
Lastly, it is also timely to review if moneylending regulations should come under the purview of MAS instead of MinLaw.
SINGAPORE- An advisory committee has been formed by the Law Ministry to review the regulatory regime for moneylending and recommend appropriate measures to strengthen it.
