Not so long ago, Mahathir sensing Singapore is thirsty for water, demanded that their water price revised from 3 cents per 1000 gallons to $10. Wiseman LKY was faced with a challenge for the country. We all know he's never one to give up. Even the Indons wanted to do us in by suddenly stopping supply of sand and granite to build Marina Bay Sand and reclaim Tuas and P Tekong - they did not succeed. Face with such a challenge, Wiseman LKY will rise even if he is being lowered - such is his dedication to the country. He has showed us that S'poreans need to be resilent. Singapore will never be held to ransom.l

The way you said it, the Old Man is still running the show after the election of two succeeding Prime Ministers. What is LHL actually doing?

I have doubt on your comprehension. Although the name is Walden Pond, it is clearly indicated that it is a lake with exactly the dimensions you have indicated but that does not mean that anything smaller than that is automatically a pond.

Nothing to do with compehension. I'm merely pointing out that if Walden Pond can be called one, there is nothing wrong with calling a smaller body of water a pond too. The PUB has broken no conventions or written rules when referring to the minor flooding as "ponding". In fact, I think the term is far more appropriate. It's an appropriate description that avoids unnecessary alarm.

If the word goes out internationally that Singapore is flooded, tourists will make alternative plans and Singapore as a whole will lose out. If the term "ponding" is used, there is good chance they will stick to their travel plans and the country benefits from the revenue.

Agree with him. It is water pounding. Flood is something like Thailand. Well planned Sinkapore lead by millionsters will never get floods. Chow sinkees engalish powder full so cannot understand flooding and pounding.

As for crowded MRT, sinkees cannot see that it is a sign of prosperity. No place on train means that prices of public transportation is so cheap and public transport is so efficient that everyone loves taking public transport.

Corruption means that public servants do not need to rely on public to support them. Their income only depends on a few generous social minded individuals. should give them their due recognition during national day.

High property prices means that everyone has a bigger chance to be a millionaire. A goal to benefit all ungrateful sinkees.

High cost and low quality of medical aims to remove worthless sinkees so that those worthy ones got more space to breathe.

Later retirement age means sinkees are lazy and got to work longer.

Higher CPF means that Sinkees are brainless and their money are better managed by Millionster.

Low number of opposition simply means sinkees are ball less.

Sinkees logic?

Any body of water less than 31 metres deep and less than 250,000 m[SUP]2[/SUP] in area definitely qualifies being called a pond.

Now, whether one believes the PUB in that what happened in Orchard Rd was only "ponding" and not "flooding" is another matter. "Ponding" is a term used to describe the formation of a pond.

"Talk".... "talking".

"Walk"..."walking".

"Pond"..."ponding".

... and so on.

I hope you understand now despite the fact that you seemed to be having difficulties earlier on.

The biggest problem I have with the people in this forum is not their views, their beliefs, their convictions, their biases, their creed, their colour, their religion or their language skills, it's the fact that they have NO BLOODY SENSE OF HUMOUR!!!!

The "ponds" in Singapore are not like those quiet, mirror lakes you find in NZ. They can be quite turbulent.
