Online teachers tout services to foreign private school students

Some struggling students are taking the easy way out – by buying essays.

Local and foreign students are brazenly cheating on their school assignments by paying other students – or online "teachers" – to do their work for them.

The New Paper has learnt that the buyers are mostly foreign students and the sellers, locals.

And because there is a demand for such services, there are even websites where essay writers can bid on assignments to do.

These essay writers seem to cover every conceivable discipline, including tourism, banking and finance, law and the sciences.

All a student has to do is log on, describe the assignment that needs to be done and wait for a prospective vendor to come a-knocking.

Some cheats are from private schools here, several private school students told The New Paper.

The private schools say they are aware of the problem and are monitoring it closely.

One school said it has caught a student cheating.
