PRC lady cut queue but still Silver Cab driver picked her up instead of me
A China woman blatantly cut a STOMPer's taxi queue and stole his taxi. To make things worse, the cabbie chose to pick her up even though she was not waiting at the taxi stand like the STOMPer was.
In an email today (Oct 12) the unhappy STOMPer described his experience:
"I was waiting for a cab at the taxi stand in front of Parkway Day Surgery Medical Centre with my wife and my younger sister. It was around 10.10 pm on Oct 10.
"There was another person behind us in the queue waiting for taxis.
"A PRC lady came out from nowhere and stood about two cars distance away from the taxi stand. She was trying to jaywalk across the road and waiting for traffic to lessen. Half a minute later, a silver cab with the plate number: SHC 1246X drove into the taxi stand from far but the Chinese PRC lady suddenly flagged for the cab.
"To my surprise, the taxi driver stopped for her, despite knowing we flagged for him to stop first. We were even waiting at the taxi stand.
"I shouted "Oei!" loudly twice to stop the Chinese PRC lady from getting into the cab and she did stop and look at who's shouting but still she ignored me and went in. When the taxi driver tried to drive off, I tried to stop the taxi but again, but was ignored by the taxi driver.
"I was very disappointed at the behaviour of the cab driver and the Chinese PRC lady. I was more upset by the professionalism shown by taxi driver more than the ignorance of the Chinese PRC lady. In Singapore, we pay a premium to ride taxis, as opposed to much cheaper forms of public transport like trains and buses.
"I hope that Silver Cab can look into this issue and take action."
