[h=2]PRC tourists assault local tour guide at airport[/h]

The local Chinese news media yesterday (3 Mar) reported an assault incident which happened on Fri night (1 Mar), involving 3 PRC tourists and a local tour guide.
The local tour guide, Ms Lim, 40, had earlier received instructions from her travel agency to go to Changi Airport to pick up a PRC tour group at 9pm on Fri. There were 15 PRC tourists in the group.
According to Ms Lim, her travel agency’s standing rule is that any tour group arriving after 7pm will not be provided with dinner. Presumably, the understanding is that the tour group will have been served dinner on the airplane.
Hence, when this PRC group arrived at 9pm, Ms Lim told them that dinner was not provided but if they were still hungry, they could change some of their money into S$ at the airport and eat there before proceeding to the hotel.
However, the PRCs told Ms Lim that according to the itinerary, they were supposed to be taken to the city for dinner.
Ms Lim called her agency to confirm but the agency said dinner would not be provided according to their information.

Ms Lim tried to explain to the PRC group but tempers were flaring up. The PRCs probably thought that the travel agency was trying to cheat them.
Voices were raised and 3 of the PRCs assaulted Ms Lim. Not only they scratched her arm, they also pulled her hair. Obscenities were hurled at Ms Lim.
Police were called.

Ms Lim later told reporters that her job was basically to fetch arriving tour groups to their hotels. She also said that after the incident, her company fired her.
She said that she intends to take legal actions.
