PRC tourists assault local tour guide at airport. & Poodles Did Nothing?

There's a vicious circle in the inbound tour trade in East Asia. Tour agencies are paid next to nothing to do guided 'tours'. Their revenue is mainly cuts from shops and restaurants that their tourists are brought to. That's the reason why there's always great pressure to shop at chosen shops whenever you go on guided tours to Hongkong, China, Thailand, etc. The guides are also paid paltry sums and are expected to encourage the tourists to buy.

As such, the guided tourists never get to see the real places. And many go back complaining there was nothing much to see. Sad.

Guided tours may be okay for conservative folks who are visiting a particular place for the first time.

Sometimes a tour guide is preferred if you visit ancient sites e.g. Turkey and Egypt. He/she can explain to you the history of the buildings.

Your experience may depend on the skill and friendliness of the tour guide.

Free and easy shopping at malls or open-air bazaars will minimize the possibility of 'chop carrot head'. Beware if you're ushered into a particular shop selling souvenirs or health-related products etc.

Yes indeed! What did those poodles from WP collecting 15k per month do? Nothing?
Aren't they suppose to protect the people from FTs? Where were they?

Stop smoking pot, will you? Your reply is totally out of context. Peppercrab, the rising star mod, what's your opinion?
