Talking about fights remind me of a football match between St Pat vs Geylang Serai Vocational Institute (now they call ITE) years ago. The St Pat boys were making hell lots of noise with banners hung in front of them. St Pat boys were quite well known for fights then. However, some boys from GSV went over to them, took out their penknives and shredded their banners. There was total silence, no fight, because they know those were the real tough ones. Today, we have cc`s, relying on the wealth of their parents to act tough.

ST ANDREW'S School (SAS) has taken swift action in disciplining a player who floored Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) flanker Leonard Wee with a punch during Monday's Schools National B Division rugby final.

The incident, which happened right after the final whistle, sparked a pitch invasion from players and supporters of both camps.

SAS yesterday temporarily suspended the boy from lessons.

He was also banned from all school rugby activities for six months, disqualified from receiving the school colours, and will not be allowed to represent the school again.

The player also made a public apology in front of the entire school during assembly yesterday morning and will be taken to meet Leonard to reconcile their differences.

In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Education said that the Schools National rugby convener - St Andrew's - has appointed a disciplinary panel to investigate the incident. Appropriate action will be taken on the recommendations of the committee.

Victorian boys were never known for any tough fights. We didn't make a big mess or news out that that. Those who fought Victorian boys in the 70s and 80s had nothing worth recounting. And Victorians boys recounted nothing. A fight settled is settled.

Ok lah..we can drink to that! All that past school rivalry must now be subsumed for higher purpose!

I had to admit, Rafflesians not bad, quite sportsmanslike. Never complaint to teachers or parents when got bashed up by Victorians during my times. Licked their wounds and stand up. And I also admit, Rafflesians beat Victorians like hell in sports and academics over past few decades. We were in the wrong for throwing childish tantrums violently.

I just can't stand how rugby teams from the 3 schools (RI, ACS, SAS) think they're god's gift to womenkind.
