SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 14-year-old in connection to the fire which engulfed the Kampung Siglap Mosque, located along Marina Parade Road on Tuesday.
Following initial investigations, officers from the Bedok Police Division managed to establish the identity of a suspect.
The youth was nabbed around the vicinity at about 3.30pm.
He will be charged in the Juvenile Court on Wednesday. If convicted, the youth could be jailed up to seven years and fined.
The blaze, which caused the roof of the Kampung Siglap Mosque to collapse, happened at slightly past 2pm.
A man in his 50s was injured trying to escape from the fire, while some 150 people had to evacuate from the mosque.
