According to STOMPer TCL, this teacher was playing poker cards with his students in school. The STOMPer asks whether this is allowed.

TCL told STOMP via email today (Jul 20):

"The picture shows a teacher (in white) playing poker cards with his students on Racial Harmony Day, in a public school.

"Is this allowed?"

With the casinos arriving in town soon, poker will become far more important than chemistry or physics.

The teacher was merely preparing them for the new wave of gambling culture that will enter Singapore soon anyway.

:biggrin::biggrin: jolly good way of teaching probability!:biggrin::biggrin:

this teacher clearly shows creativity by introducing authentic scenarios, e.g. a game of poker, to display the finer art of Mathematics, especially in the fields of probability! Bravo!
