A number of hawker centres will be installing new tray-return facilities by the end of the year, as part of a refreshed campaign to get patrons to clear up after themselves.
The Environment and Water Resources Ministry is launching the campaign in the last quarter of this year, after earlier attempts in 2003 and 2008 did not fare well.
It is expected to start in a few existing hawker centres, and will eventually be rolled out to all 107 hawker centres under the care of the National Environment Agency.
The 10 new hawker centres that the Government is building will also have such facilities from day one.
