South China Morning Post has published a claim that Chinese researchers have successfully synthesised a sample of a carbon nanotube material so strong it could be used to construct the tether cable of a space elevator.

A research team from Tsinghua University in Beijing has developed a fibre they say is so strong it could even be used to build an elevator to space.​
They say just 1 cubic centimetre of the fibre – made from carbon nanotube – would not break under the weight of 160 elephants, or more than 800 tonnes. And that tiny piece of cable would weigh just 1.6 grams.​
“This is a breakthrough,” said Wang Changqing, a scientist at a key space elevator research centre at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xian who was not involved in the Tsinghua study.​
The Chinese team has developed a new “ultralong” fibre from carbon nanotube that they say is stronger than anything seen before, patenting the technology and publishing part of their research in the journal Nature Nanotechnology earlier this year.​
“It is evident that the tensile strength of carbon nanotube bundles is at least 9 to 45 times that of other materials,” the team said in the paper.​
They said the material would be “in great demand in many high-end fields such as sports equipment, ballistic armour, aeronautics, astronautics and even space elevators”.​

Those cables would need to have tensile strength – to withstand stretching – of no less than 7 gigapascals, according to Nasa. In fact, the US space agency launched a global competition in 2005 to develop such a material, with a US$2 million prize attached. No one claimed the prize.​
Now, the Tsinghua team, led by Wei Fei, a professor with the Department of Chemical Engineering, says their latest carbon nanotube fibre has tensile strength of 80 gigapascals.​

If this claim is verified by other researchers, the properties of this new material are straight out of science fiction.
Space elevators are the ultimate cheap space launch technology. Instead of blasting into space using a rocket, space elevators allow launch vehicles to literally climb to orbit along a long cable, using electric power supplied via the cable.
The way space elevators work, a satellite is placed in a geosynchronous orbit, and a long cable is dangled down to Earth, where it is tethered to a ground station. Geosynchronous satellites orbit the Earth once every 24 hours, so from the point of view of someone on Earth they appear to permanently hang in the same place in the sky, providing the perfect orbital tether to the top of a very long elevator cable. TV satellites are also placed in geostationary orbits, so you can point your satellite dish at the transmitter, and never have to adjust it again.
The catch is the tether cable has to support its own weight for at least 22,000 miles, so the cable material must be immensely strong and extremely light. The new Chinese nanotube material may satisfy both of these requirements.
Space elevators could be used to construct solar power satellites for an affordable price.
The new material might even make electric cars practical – the Post claims it could potentially be used to construct a flywheel battery for an electric automobile capable of holding 10,000 miles worth of electric charge.

What breakthrough? Space elevators were first proposed in a Sci-fi novel by British novelist Arthur Clarke during the seventies. Graphene too isn't a new material. It was made by chemists in British and American uninversities two decades ago. The Communist Chinese have not achieved anything new in the scientific world. All they do is glamorise their "breakthroughs" to an uninformed nation of dimwits and boast about how great they are.

Chinese President Xi Jinping told military officials responsible for the disputed South China Sea to be better “prepared for war” as tensions with the US are rising. Beijing may be bracing for a worst-case scenario with the US.
Xi made the blunt remarks last week as he was meeting the Southern Theatre Command, the military officials responsible for one of China’s five strategic war zones. The calls were made on Thursday as part of his four-day visit to Guangdong province, but the Chinese state media reported them only on Friday.
“It’s necessary to strengthen the mission… and concentrate preparations for fighting a war,” President Xi said. “We need to take all complex situations into consideration and make emergency plans accordingly.
We have to step up combat readiness exercises, joint exercises and confrontational exercises to enhance servicemen’s capabilities and preparation for war.

One of the key responsibilities of the Southern Theater Command is protecting China’s interests in the South China Sea, where Beijing claims sovereignty over a number of islands. The sea is of strategic importance to Chinese trade. The US rejects the territorial claims and has been sending so-called Freedom of Navigation missions through the waters and airspace, which Beijing considers its own, as a gesture of defiance.
Chief of US Naval Operations Admiral John Richardson said Tuesday the US and China “will meet each other more and more on the high seas” as the two nations confront each other in the South China Sea.

Xi’s remarks are a sign of irritation that the Chinese government has accumulated about the policies of the Donald Trump administration, believes Victor Gao, director of the China National Association of International Studies.
“The US has been pushing China around, humiliating China, imposing unilateral tariffs on Chinese exports, and also declaring China as its rival and a major threat to the US survival,” he told RT. “Xi is preparing for the worst scenario.”

Gao said Beijing is not certain about Washington’s policies vis a vis China, so the military will be right to “prepare for a final showdown with the United States.” Considering that both nations have nuclear weapons, an open war conflict may lead to an “Armageddon involving mankind as a whole,” he added.
The expert said it’s up to the US to abandon its “bullying tactics” towards China.
“China does not want to have a trade war with the US. China does not want to have an armed conflict with the US. But if the US really wants to impose these things on China, the Chinese people will be fully mobilized behind the Chinese government,” he explained.
The US is currently engaged in a full-blown trade war with China, which resulted in both sides imposing tariffs and other restrictions on each other’s products. Washington also recently cited a threat from Chinese missiles as a justification for abandoning a key nuclear arms treaty with Russia, further undermining the Cold War era non-proliferation mechanisms.
Amid the growing tension, Beijing has been injuring America’s position as the holder of the only world currency, selling out US treasury securities and switching out of dollar in its trade with third countries.

但射程远了以后,老问题又来了,能打的远可怎么看呢?网络上有视频详细披露了俄罗斯BM-30“龙卷风”火箭炮9M534侦察火箭弹的工作过程,这种侦察弹能够释放出一个T90微型无人机从而达到预先抵达目标上进行侦查校射的目的。今天,我们就来说说这种“奇特”的弹药。

但是,类似俄军“龙卷风”和解放军PHL03这样的300毫米远程火箭炮的最大射程已经超过100公里,再使用小型校射无人机就已经力不从心了。况且,即便小型校射无人机能够勉强达到预定的打击区域上空,要配合打击行动也是比较难的。小型校射无人机达到预定空域早了,会暴露打击意图,自身也容易被敌方防空火力击落,到达晚了,也无法观察弹着点以及毁伤效果。

因此,最好的解决办法就是在火箭弹抵达预定区域上空时,校射无人机就能够同时到位。于是,俄罗斯军工技术人员便想到了将小型校射无人机“塞”到300毫米远程火箭弹的战斗部空间位置里,让它随着其他用于毁伤敌方的杀伤型火箭弹一同打出去。
之所以可以做到这一点,主要得益于3方面原因:
其一,300毫米远程火箭弹的内部空间足够大,足以容纳一架微型无人机;
其二,这种用于校射的微型无人机属于一次性使用装备,无需考虑回收,因此体积和重量可以做的尽可能小;
其三,得益于300毫米远程火箭弹的发射是一个较长时间的匀加速过程,对于微型无人机的光电设备、发动机以及驱动伺服机构等精密设备的抗过载要求不高。而且,也并不是每一辆300毫米远程火箭炮发射车都要装备一枚校射无人机火箭弹,基本上一个炮兵连装备两三枚就足以满足作战要求了。

今天,它如约而至。距离2008年歼-10首次在珠海航展上公开展示,正好10年。这样,起码在大部分吃瓜群众心目中,这次航展也是有、意思了

近日歼10矢量推进验证机亮相珠海,有网友就对发动机喷管的不少细节进行了分析。歼10的调节片末端可能也采用了类似F135发动机的薄壁和折边结构,在减轻重量和运动惯量同时增加强度抑制振动。(来源:探索月球 航空新视野-赤卫 垂直风行 JacKsonbobo)


首次公开亮相的歼-10B-TVC(姑且这么称呼),涂装上最大的变化是将其垂尾上“1034”编号(10代表歼10系列飞机;3代表第三个型号——1代表10、2代表10S、3自然代表10B;4代表第4架原型机)原本使用的红色字体(试飞院的战术飞机编号多用红色),改为了类似我军现役战机使用的黄色字体。

早在歼-10B还处于试飞阶段时(2013年初),其原型机也曾涂上过相同颜色字体的编号,对比可见该机和歼-10B-TVC的区别
根据官方预告,在此次航展上,我军现役的歼-10B将继续参加静态展示。这样一来,歼-10B-TVC的这种“准现役涂装”,还能给人一种TVC技术在我军实用化指日可待的感觉
不过验证机毕竟是验证机,要说它能否推动歼-10的外贸工作可不好预计。毕竟除了俄罗斯外售的苏-30MKI系列飞机对应的客户之外,目前对TVC这种技术真正感兴趣的买家并不多。

很多用户买了苏-30MKI系,也并非就是对AL-31FP有多大瘾头,更多看中的是其相控阵雷达——谁叫苏-30MKK这方面慢了一步呢
然而正如历届航展所体现的那样,本届珠海航展也要承担中国空军和航空工业对外开放的一部分职能。除了展示歼-10的优良气动设计和先进飞控技术之外,歼-10B-TVC的飞行展示,对于第二次独立参展的航发集团来说,也是展示仍然在业内外有所争议的中国航发工业技术实力的重要机会。

事情总是向好发展的,使用国产发动机的歼-20也将不仅仅是停留在原型机而已
说回这个歼-10B-TVC,根据一位曾在试飞院目睹歼-10TVC试飞场面的大佬透露啊,“看它扭屁股,忘了苏三五”,人家毕竟眼见为实,那就算他话糙理不糙好了
这本事是咋实现的呢?
尽管在手册上,歼-10的可用迎角的确不算大,但在去年分析国产矢量推力发动机的时候我提到过,在歼-10定型试飞阶段(1998-2003年),受限于当时客观条件,其大迎角飞行性能本就未被完全发掘出来。
对于采用放宽静安定度布局,敏捷性出色的歼-10系列飞机来说,完全具备完成“眼镜蛇”机动的前置条件——低速下,其主翼能提供足够的抬头力矩,让飞机迅速抬起头来;主动差动控制的鸭翼,可以保持左右两侧涡流的对称性,防止飞机在这一过程中偏航;尽管并非苏-27那样的双垂尾布局,但其高大的单垂尾+双腹鳍仍能保持较好的大迎角下的偏航稳定性。。。。。。

歼-10的主翼没有延伸边条,省却了侧卫系飞机大迎角下因边条作用导致涡流不对称的烦恼
但接下来的动作就少不了发动机帮忙了:虽然采用大面积三角翼的歼-10,在迎面气流的作用下,理论上具备良好的低头特性;但由于其面积较大的鸭翼和主翼的位置关系问题,此时附加的抬头力矩会使得低头时间偏长;此时矢量推力发动机提供的直接低头力矩,有助于让飞机尽快平稳渡过低头阶段。

当然啦,玩这一出的时候发动机还得有绝赞的抗喘振性能,不能玩着玩着就熄火了,从之前在本场的表现来看,606所显然对“太行”的防喘能力做了改进
另外,三轴TVC还可以在提供低头力矩的同时,抵消可能出现的偏航力矩。。。。。。但个人觉得,歼-10这种具备一定主动控制能力的飞机,更多考虑的,应该是如何利用偏航力矩玩出更多的花活来。

以苏-35为例既然机头都回正了,何不把低速下的机头指向做到极致?落叶飘走起!

就算机头还在上仰,此时施加一个偏航力矩,借助歼-10良好的抬头特性,抛饼走起!
所以啊,歼-10B-TVC翼下悬挂的两个深蓝色发烟设备(这颜色,显然是从八一飞行表演队顺过来的)的用意就很明显了。

说到F-16C与AH-64D编队通场,很多人想到的是新加坡航展上该国空军的日常表演。但荷兰空军也有类似项目,展示前者出色的低速大迎角性能,注意F-16翼尖的拉烟设备
除了能更好勾勒出歼-10表演的姿态之外,想想俩吊舱在气动和重量上也等于挂俩格斗弹了,这还能给人一种贼实战的感觉有木有!虽然改装矢量发动机之后增重难免,但既然是航展表演,歼-10B-TVC完全可以通过减少载油量的方式保持“身轻如燕”,献上一场效果不输于苏-35的视觉体验。
一花开放不是春。早在歼-10B-TVC抵达珠海之前,多架歼-20已经转场前往南部战区空军某场站。尽管静态展示嘛。。。。。。那是肯定不会有的,但动态展示的规模,那也是肯定比上届强大的。

两年来,随着歼-20先后交付多支部队,在曝光率逐渐增加的同时,积累了一定的装备规模
说到这个规模啊,在去年7月30日沙场大阅兵前后,官方发布的受阅歼-20编队座舱视角中,就有人看出,首装歼-20的空军试训基地某部在彩排中曾以五机编队展示,一如歼-16曾以七机编队、歼-11B曾以九机编队参与排练那样。

但在正式阅兵时,除歼-15之外的受阅各重型机单位,却均以相比彩排时减少2机的形式展示,9机变7机也许还好,但7机变5机就有点hold不住了,歼-20编队在五机变三机之后更是显得单薄了些。

相比密密实实的楔形编队,人字形编队的填充感不足,在视觉上也是个问题。所以。。。。。。要是能六机编队就更好了!
那么咱就随便开个脑洞,如果在歼-10B-TVC低速大迎角缓慢通场后,歼-20五机编队高速掠过超车,来个水平开花同时放油,致敬那份未能在“1708”任务中正式显露的风采。。。。。。哎,若是能得亲见此番豪情,也是无憾了。

为了应对天气等因素的影响,各种机型在航展上的飞行动作都会有多种难度不同的预案,教练-10在长春开放日上的表现就是一例。最终领导会拍板决定哪个呢?现在只有天知道

五机编队除了够豪迈之外,咱觉得还有个好处:从三机到五机,一旦有了这种“水涨船高”的展示势头,那么等到“1019”任务(2019年10月1日国庆70周年阅兵任务的代称,在之后这几个月,这个代称在本号的使用频率会越来越高),歼-20如果不来个7机编队,对不对得起观众另说,您想想咱们老百姓都见证过五机编队了,大老板们要是在城楼上还是看个五机编队。。。。。。

观察者网军事评论员认为,中国军工向来说话留有余地,很少说出自己是“国际第一”,或者“国际唯一”。虽然本文中没有提到“丝路眼”雷达的具体参数,但是结合我国此前预警机出口的情况以及预警机雷达的发展情况,14所此番“国际唯一”肯定不是空言虚语。
