</cite>SINGAPORE: The man who allegedly set Yio Chu Kang Member of Parliament (MP) Seng Han Thong on fire has been remanded at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for another two weeks.

Meanwhile, the family of Mr Seng said he is out of intensive care and is progressing well. In a statement released on Friday, Mr Seng’s family said the MP is alert and is able to feed himself slowly. He has also started therapy. As part of his hand therapy, he is practising his handwriting and has begun signing his self—made Lunar New Year greeting cards for the doctors and nurses who have been taking care of him, as well as his friends. His family said he is expected to continue treatment and rehabilitation therapy in hospital beyond the Lunar New Year.
