Gangsterism or so called secret societies, had long been wiped out, thankfully by our founding fathers at independence, to build a Nation thru the Rule of Law than of might.

Many of the gang leaders that existed, even with links to Hong Kong Triads, were arrested, under National Emergency Powers, & put in jails with the keys thrown away, leaving them to rot, The lieutenants & gang members were offered a choice - to follow their leaders to rot in jails or accept honest roles in society in our security forces. Just to share, a friend of mine whom is in the police force, when in plain clothes, faced with gang members who demanded he 'poh jit tao' - in Hokkien to identify his gang membership - my friend just named 999, with a membership of 5million+ from all walks of life, in politics, to security forces, to ICA, to Courts & even all the way to every strata level of society. The ruffians backed off...

Rest assured that SPF is monitoring such gang events CLOSELY. There are surveillance cameras every where, to take pics of the gang members. Most whom have memberships to such gangs would had changed, like the lieutenants of past, to stay clear away from harmful acts & live a decent life, for oneself & loved ones peacefully & safely, proven by success in their lives, & are there only to show their final respects.

Others whom are not, would had their faces recorded, & when criminal activities happened, their faces would be on the front pages of an AI & facial recognition computer.... to be sought for assistance to solve cases, for a safer, better, progressive & evolving Singapore where none would be left behind if they chose not to...

While true as they live in such places, & as long as they keep their activities there, it would be up to those Nations to uphold the Rule of Law in their nation, which we Singapore have NO jurisdiction over, unless they are WILLING to COOPERATE & INSIST on intel info on them, to save lives from harmful activities as some other nations had done...

We Singapore stands ready to help, to bring criminals to justice. I have something to share but you might not believe though.

You are right that there are no longer the formal SS, and had been spilled over as streets gang long time ago.

Nevertheless, another form of secret society is still existing and they are related to gov officials from every gov ministries, or at least some of it.

Why am I making this claim?
Becos of my personal experience.

Once I was caught with some illegal goods by spf and I was detained and subsequently handed over to the sg custom and was temporary put into the cell in tj pagar, pending io investigation.

During the interrogation, I offered to expose the original source of the supplies, in exchange for a lighter sentence and same time I see it as an act of a full cooperation for the case to be closed ASAP.
But guess what? The io chose to act blur and I could tell from our whole conversation that he already knew about the existence of those main supplier.
They chose not to do anything with them, while targeting the small fries like me.
Why they want to do this?
Simple, becos what they want is money.
After me, there will be many many more to come.
This clearly shows that the ministries itself are covering up for the bigger syndicate. Anyone in my situation would have guessed they are actually backing them up instead. I will not be surprised if those syndicates are paying them kopi money regularly.

It was very clear to me during the whole interrogation process that the io was only keen in siphoning money from me I.e either I accept a fine or a jailterm. And the fine we talking about is not a small sum, around $5k in exchange of about 4wks jail term.
And the io was trying every means to make me pay the fine at my convenience, and even suggested using credit card.

Let me tell you this, gov is dirty to the core and do not assume law enforcer themselves are not criminals themselves.

We can see for ourselves the pap gangster is acting successfully on the naivety of its die hard supporters.
They would rather collect fines in every area they can instead of clamping it down for good and that will be the end of their income.
Other areas like when someone committed an act eg hurting someone, the fine doesn't goes to the victim, but to pap pocket. It just doesn't make sense.
The more crimes committed is actually to the gov advantage.
