Watching it on TV and after 25 minutes it is looking like a disaster unless something more exciting or entertaining happens. The desire to show their evolving history ended up being more history with great looking props and nothing else.
Oscar winning director Danny Boyle of Slumdog Millionaire fame forgot about the entertainment and decided to do a real-live documentary.
Hope he surprises me after the 30 minute mark.
After Beijing's spectacular show, it was going to be a tough ask anyway. Chinese threw money and the kitchen sink to save face and I doubt any nation can afford that sort of expenses at least for the next 20 years.
