It is not true that LKY forced the exit of sinkieland from Malaysia; the playboy Tengku kicked out LKY. The Tengku did not like LKY’s clamour for a “Malaysian Malaysia” where all races would have equal rights but the Tengku wanted supremacy of the bumis to remain.
You have been brain-washed by LKY's version. Read the Malaysian version and then put the two versions together to figure out what really happen.
LKY realized that there is no way he could be the Prime Minister of Malaysia, he decided to settle for sinkapore and thus engineered the exit of sinkapore from the federation. LKY was in a hurry to be somebody and the Malays are not fast mover.
If sinkieland had remained in Malaysia without LKY, all Chinese and Indian sinkies would just have the same fate as the Chinese and Indian in Malaysia today, a part of the country but no part of same benefits and privileges as the bumis.
If sinkapore remained in Malaysia, Malaysia will be much better than it is now. There would be more moderation and less corruption. Race relations would be much better. The Chinese are doing pretty well in Malaysia even though they are not politically strong. But economically and financially they are.
What has sinkapore gained by leaving? We put ourselves in a constant battle for survival as we have no resources to fall back on. Our stressful life is a consequence of LKY's fulfillment of his ego.
Sinkieland exists today as a sovereign country due to a twist of fate. The Old Guards especially Goh Keng Swee realized the futility of remaining in Malaysia. Otherwise, there is no Singapore today. She would be just one of the outpost States in Malaysia like Sabah and Sarawak for milking of resources by the Feds.[/QUOTE]
