Re: Will Government Declare A Period Of National Mourning And State Flag Flown Half M

What if all PRs and foreigners, even the teacher? Half mast, 3 quarters or 2 thirds?

lowered to the ground.

Re: Can schools just organise such trips for their 11 and 12 years old by themselves

Do they need approval from any authority or body ?

Does the authority has a set of safety guidelines on age of students in relation to the activities organised and is it uniform?

Yes Tony Tan must approve.

Approval? Go lah. See they risk their lives and die.

Re: Why MOE ?

Meeting KPI is more important. The school has been organizing this expedition for years and scored very well in their KPIs. This year is just very suay for them.

FUCK YOU and your KPI. Where is your fucking heart?

I hope very soon your family members died as you get to meet your all important KPI.

Re: Can schools just organise such trips for their 11 and 12 years old by themselves

schools are after kpi.
vendors are after profits.
so vendors come up with programmes for kids to scale greater heights.

When you put these 2 together, we see our young kids climbing KK mountain, waiting for something to happen.

Re: Will Government Declare A Period Of National Mourning And State Flag Flown Half M

Our nation do mourn over the loss of the kids although it is a natural disaster.
We want to let the families of the deceased know that we share their sorrows.

half-mast our state flag for this tragedy.

You mean MOE doesn't regulate the activities organised from the relevance and safety aspects?

It's enrichment and leadership training. Part of Heng Swee Keat's vision of a holistic education for our young ones, instead of just focusing on grades. :)

Re: Why MOE ?

Why why no one ask the magic Sammyboy question: Which party did their families vote for? Which party will they vote for in GE 2015? PPP? SFP? SDP? NSP? SDA? WP? or the same old PAP who sent their kids.

Re: The star online: 10 students of Tanjong katong primary sch killed

PAP is happy you know why? Less chance of these people doing an Amos Yee.

I think this is similar to why some NS men are sent overseas for reservist training. You create jobs for the grateful natives, and in return the host country gives our government some perks. Win-win. :D

Re: Sabah Mountain Guides instrumental in bringing back the injured, weak and decease

Sabah quake: Local mountain guides hailed as unsung heroes in aftermath

Following the powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake yesterday morning (June 5), the guides were instrumental in bringing back the injured, the weak and the deceased through chaotic conditions. Up to 90 local guides were deployed for search-and-rescue operations along the mountain’s route, where over 120 climbers were trapped, missing, lost or stranded along the trail to the summit after the earthquake occurred at 7.15am yesterday.

Sabah Park staff Alip Sampil said that they sent up the guides, some who were porters carrying produce and general loads during regular days, to assist in the operations as they knew the terrain best.

The mountain guides traipsed up the mountain, some more than once, and assisted the stranded and weakened climbers back to safety amidst the damaged trail and in the darkness.

Regulate? They blind sign off to improve their chance of promotion..

Re: Why MOE ?

Def a very big soul searching post mortem coming up. I do think MOE has been lax in regulating this leaving the discretion to the schools to administer this. Of course some schools will take more risks than others!

Need to outshine other schools to score points. Hope that person responsible suffers the same fate as the victims.
