these two books are a joke please. esp RPR, it's so stupid and pretentious and full of hang ups, probably aimed to capture the whole "yuppy" late 1980s feel and failed miserably.

the teenage textbook was way better. it did capture the teen spirit at that time. ;)

recently i kapo a friend blog. seems like there is a craze over some silly vampire book call twilight. prehaps its just her gang.

Not disagree both are fluff... pocket size pick ups, that some of us chanced upon in our youth. Just a moment of my cheek, expecting some others to take a breather from more topical headliners or politics folder:p And sure enough..

The 'Brable' is for you cockernathan chrikukustians read only :D

are you really a man? :p

danielle steele's narrative voice is the useless drivel of a whiny woman. it's so bad, i don't actually know what she's talking about. and i'm a girl.:rolleyes:

at least jackie collins and sidney sheldon has dialogue instead of some weird inner monologue in long sentences. :)
... not 2 4get douglas lee fatal seductions I/II :D

Nah, we can also read for leisure ..and not just for holy grail in quest for knowledge etc. On cookbooks, isn't the salivating pics part of essential ingredients?;)

Roald Dahl is a great author.
His books always have hidden meanings, nice analogies and surprise endings.

Like what kind of hidden meaning?

I hate the surprise endings. I only read the whole collection because it was a gift and I felt bad. :D:D:D

Any good reads lately?

Any good reads lately?

Chanced on 2 works by jap authors (translation) couple years back.

One was gruesome "Out" by Natsuo Kirino... few urbanised (but displaced) ladies helped out their crony with dismember a rotten guy..

Other was more palatable Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood
