No such thing as herd immunity as India CV19 cases rocket..

If you want to see a scary statistic here's the one that matters most and it has nothing to do with Covid.

165,000 Ah Nehs have emigrated from that shithole so far this year.

1106 have migrated TODAY....

AND A BIG CHUNK OF THOSE ARE HEADING FOR SINKIE LAND!!!!     :poop::poop:

Pretty much proves my point doesn't it. The issue is not Covid deaths but a broken undertaker industry.

Germany can handle 6 times the Ah Neh death rate with no issues whatsoever.

So now the issue is disposal of dead bodies? So you know just how stupid you sound?

As India Reports Record Deaths, PM Modi Warns New COVID Lockdowns Should Be "Last Resort"
On Tuesday, the health ministry reported 259,170 new infections, topping 200K for a sixth day, and getting closer to the peak of nearly 300K seen in the United States in January. Total coronavirus cases in India are now at 15.32 million, second only to the United States, with epidemiologists saying far more infectious new variants were one of the main factors behind the latest surge in cases.

Many experts suspect India's actual deaths are far more than the official count, in part because crematoriums in various parts of the country have been running so long that some of the metal parts essential to their function have started to melt.

In Lucknow, capital of the populous northern state of Uttar Pradesh, data from the largest COVID-only crematorium, Baikunthdham, shows 2x the number of bodies arriving on six different days in April than government data on Covid deaths for the entire city.

In another crematorium in UP, the number of cremations have jumped by 5x in recent weeks during India's second COVID-19 wave. With hospitals full, and oxygen and medicines in short supply, several major cities are reporting far larger numbers of cremations and burials than official COVID-19 death data can explain, according to crematorium and cemetery workers, media and a review of government data, which suggests that COVID deaths are being undercounted.

"We are working around the clock at 100% capacity to cremate bodies on time," Kamlesh Sailor, the president of the trust that runs the Gujarat crematorium in the diamond-polishing city of Surat, told Reuters.

As new lockdowns begin in the hard-hit western state of Maharashtra, people in Delhi and towns of the populous northern state of Uttar Pradesh put out desperate calls for help on Twitter, asking for assistance getting their families into hospitals. Others reported dire shortages of oxygen and the anti-viral drug Remdesivir.

In a statement delivered late Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged states to only treat lockdowns as a "last resort" and instead focus on creating micro containment zones to tamp down the soaring cases caused by India's "second wave" of the virus.

The trend in India was cited by a Bloomberg Opinion columnist Tuesday who warned that COVID-19 "is going to kill more people in 2021 than it did last year" and cited India is a primary example of this trend.

As caseloads push medical facilities toward capacity, the health system itself is starting to crack. Vaccine stocks, hospital beds and even oxygen supplies are running short, leading to bitter arguments between the states and the federal government. In some places, the dead are being transported by truck because cities have run out of hearses. Elsewhere, crematoria have started to break down because of the sheer number of bodies being burned. The government Monday promised to open up vaccines to all people over the age of 18.
If things don’t change soon, the country will be facing 3,000 deaths a day — twice its current level, and 10 times what was being seen through most of this year — Bhramar Mukherjee, a biostatistician at the University of Michigan, wrote last week.
Stung by criticism that the government had failed its people, Modi earlier ordered that vaccinations be made available to all Indians over the age of 18 by May 1. But even as the country has clamped down on the export of vaccines to create more supplies for its own citizens, the trend of rising cases amid higher vaccination numbers is unmistakable - and it's starting to worry some experts, especially after the discovery of the country's first "double mutant" COVID strain.

Dont listen to anything Sam Leong says first Sweden then India then Brazil now look at the results. Man has something wrong upstairs as IMH Doctor points out.

Stupidity is as contagious as this virus.

@Leongsam :FU: :FU: :FU: Where is India herd immunity??
1619213879766-png.108871

India is obviously close to or has pretty much reached herd immunity which is why its deaths per million figure is so low compared to Europe and South America.

India at last count is at 1.19 deaths/million which is very low.

In contrast the EU is at 5.3 deaths/million and the South American continent is experiencing a whopping 9.25 deaths/million.

This is despite the fact that in India only a minute segment of the population has been vaccinated which goes to show that if the virus is allowed to spread the protection acquired is as good as, if not better, than a vaccine.

My suggestion is that you use ourworldindata.org as your source of data because it provides a far more comprehensive view of Covid numbers.

The site you are using just tabulates raw numbers which gives an erroneous impression of what is actually going on.

However if you apply a bit of intelligence you should be able to figure out, even from the raw numbers, that India is doing remarkably well in dealing with Covid. The USA has a population of 350 million. India has a population of 1.4 BILLION and yet the number of deaths in India is way lower than the total deaths count of the USA.

Herd immunity cannot be achieved by relying on deaths because the death rate is simply too low. So far only 200.000 deaths have been recorded and even if the number is a gross undercount and the death toll is actually 3x higher it still means that less than 600,000 have died from Covid after more than a year.

600,000/1,4000,00,000 = 0.04% of the population which is such a small number it won't make a scrap of difference towards the goal of herd immunity.

Sore loser, so funny "its just a flu" LOL!:tongue::tongue:

It is just the flu. In fact for those under 50 it is a very mild flu which is why for the vast majority of the population chances of falling victim to Covid are very low.

Fact-check: Is flu harder on kids than COVID-19?
Madeline Heim, Austin American-Statesman

6-7 minutes

Ron Johnson: "For younger people, seasonal flu is “in many cases” a deadlier virus than COVID-19“
PolitiFact’s ruling: Mostly True
Here’s why: As schools across the country open for the uncertain, unprecedented school year to come, opinions are split on how to do so safely.
Some districts have opted for completely virtual learning. Others will try a mix of both online and in-person classes, or will send younger children to school while older kids stay home, or will phase students back to the classroom gradually.
Others still are calling for schools to reopen completely for those who feel well enough to teach and attend, and who aren’t especially vulnerable to COVID-19.
One such voice is U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, who in an Aug. 13, 2020 radio interview with Milwaukee talk show host Steve Scaffidi on WTMJ-AM discussed why he believes students need to return to school in person this fall.
For younger people, Johnson asserted, "seasonal flu is actually, in many cases, a deadlier virus if they contract that."
Is Johnson correct that COVID-19 is less deadly for children than the flu?
Let’s dig in.
COVID was less harsh on kids than the flu, this year’s stats show
To back up his claim, Johnson’s office sent statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on flu and COVID-19 deaths among Americans under age 18.
During the 2018-19 flu season, the CDC reported approximately 480 flu deaths among children ages 0-17, about 30% of whom had a lab-confirmed case of influenza.
Comparably, 90 American youth have died from coronavirus complications from the beginning of the pandemic through mid-August, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
More than 46,000 children were hospitalized for flu in that 2018-19 period. The hospitalization rate among children 5 to 17 was 39.2 children per 100,000 children. For COVID-19, that hospitalization rate is 6 per 100,000 children ages 5 to 17, the CDC says.
In a report detailing the differences between COVID-19 and the flu, the CDC states that "the risk of complications for healthy children is higher for flu compared to COVID-19."
And data from Wisconsin echoes that sentiment. Since the pandemic began, no children have died from COVID-19 complications, according to state Department of Health Services death data, and 147 people ages 0-19 have been hospitalized. In contrast, three pediatric flu deaths occurred during this year’s flu season, DHS data show, and 605 kids ages 17 and under have been hospitalized.
What those statistics might not account for
The data show there have been fewer childhood deaths from COVID-19 so far this year than from the seasonal flu.
The hold-up, of course, lies in nuance, said Dr. Jon Temte, associate dean for public health and community engagement within UW-Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health.
"U.S. schools have been out (and) mostly closed since March, thus extremely limiting cases of SARS-CoV-2 in children. Conversely, we rarely close schools for influenza, thus allowing an attack rate of 30-40% in school-aged children," Temte wrote in an Aug. 27, 2020 email to PolitiFact Wisconsin.
That is, the flu has been able to spread through children more commonly than COVID-19, creating more cases, more complications and more deaths.
Other experts agree. Dr. Chad Vercio, chair of pediatrics at Riverside University Health System in California, said children’s risk from the coronavirus depends on how widespread the virus is in any given area, and that "it is unknown" if COVID hospitalization rates would rise once schools reopen.
And though the early data suggests that COVID-19 is not as bad for children as the flu, it’s just that: Early.
Dr. Vidya Mony, an infectious disease expert with Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, Calif., said there isn’t enough data yet to say indisputably that COVID risks are lower for kids.

Have herd immunity lah. But for shitskin land, they can continue their herd worship.

What is Herd Immunity and How Can We Achieve It With COVID-19?

Stopping SARS-CoV-2 will require a substantial percentage of the population to be immune.
By Gypsyamber D’Souza and David Dowdy | Updated April 6, 2021

When the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 first started to spread, virtually nobody was immune. Meeting no resistance, the virus spread quickly across communities. Stopping it will require a significant percentage of people to be immune. But how can we get to that point?

In this Q&A, Gypsyamber D’Souza, PhD ’07, MPH, MS, and David Dowdy, MD, PhD ’08, ScM ’02, explain how the race is on to get people immune by vaccinating them before they get infected.

What is herd immunity?

When most of a population is immune to an infectious disease, this provides indirect protection—or population immunity (also called herd immunity or herd protection)—to those who are not immune to the disease.
