No need to renew water deal with Mudland next year!

Agree with you. Current water treatment palnt in JB is much much cheaper than RO plant. Old tech, using fresh, clean river water and best of all plant is located in JB. And of course totally depreciated.

RO water is another ball of wax. Uses a lot of energy to drive the compressors. Depending on how dirty the water is, cost increases tremendously. Great idea if you are in Middle East area but kind of silly since we are in Equatorial climate where it rains 4 to 10 times a day.

My view is that had we negotiated a fair price of water - not 3 sen per 1000 gal but perhaps use HK price as an example we will be ahead $ wise and ahead relationship wise.

If Spore goes nuclear it'll probably need to hire cheap foreigners. How competent are the cheap labor

We already have alot of trouble with our imported MRT strain systems. A nuclear plant is less forgiving, PAP cannot cover up any accidents as the whole region will be affected

I agree ! Sign a 'Friendship Treaty' encoompassing water, PUB land in JB, water sanctity amidst conflict resolution etc - more economical & best proof of healthy & trusting friendship with our nearest strategic neighbour.

For this to happen, the 2 old farts must say sayonara first, only when good old Harry & Madhatter are gone for good can bad blood be cleansed & healthy ties regarding water be re-established .......

Not long more, I guess 10 more years, both are in their 80s now ....

Very truth the 2 old farts must go. If not any talk or deal sure no outcome wasting time and money for any meeting. :)

Years ago the PAPies said that they were switching to natural gas and that we would end up paying less for our utilities. Zoom ahead and we have experienced nothing of that. Even with natural gas< we still end up paying the same as oil.

Don't trust the PAPies whenit comes to money matters.
