The WP would do well to follow this simple advice - Use current popular youngsters like JL and NS to inspire and attract similar good-looking and well speaking youngsters and unleash their charm on the old and outdated MIWs to clear them out. They will win another 2 more GRCs in 2025.

Lee Hsien Yang is still useful. Though covered with white hair, he is still very young. The war is not quite over for him. He knew his brother is still going to hold on to power. This result probably a good stepping stone for him to do more and help WP and PSP wrestle more GRCs in the future. They can comfortably know that they have a good base of voters in west coast GRC - unless PAP tried to break it apart.
If PAP is smart, Ng Chee Meng should be sacked. Make him apologise to the Singapore workers and send him away or ask him to find jobs himself.
His party overstretched their resources by opening a second front in the north. If he deployed more foot soldiers in WC, put more posters and keep knocking at every doors repeatedly, it likely he can close the gap.

Most pap candidates see joining politics as a career path than a calling. With no guarantee of getting elected, I doubt pap will continue to attract enough " high calibre" candidates.
There will come a time they have to lower their standard just to get enough new candidates to fill the gap.
