Netizens continue to whack George Yeo

I suspect that GY is trying to avoid the Lee Yoke Suan effect during polling. Like GY, Lee Yoke Suan is a very nice man. The people at Pandan Valley know him well. He would even apologise to Policeman when his alarm tripped due to bad weather. Unfortunately people took it as a weakness.

In the last elections, GY had a rought time as well. For some reason, people tend to avoid confronting the tough talking but poorly performing chaps. Frankly what value has Lim Hng Kiang and Lim Boon Heng brought in.

Yes Scroobal. It seems that George Yeo has found a niche in his positioning.

The only way is to point out how helpless he could be when the PAP government are making some stupid policies that are affecting the people so adversely.

I am not referring to detailed/long winded replies. I know it is not possible for GY to be a know all but at least the reply should be more tactful. This is what i am calling for instead of 'Please see your MP'. Dun you think he can do better than that. Anyone receiving this reply would not feel comfortable or happy with it.

Are you sure you are happy that your tax dollars goes to paying him for giving long-winded, carefully worded replies on FB for everyone's personal issues? I don't think I will be happy if my minister spends all his time answering personal queries on the internet. It is a different matter if the queries pertain to national policies.

I would most definitely not pose questions on my private affairs to him on FB, not even if he is the PM or President. The only exception is if I have been wrongly convicted of some serious crime and there is no other way for me to ask for my grievance to be addressed (like what happens in ancient China and maybe still in modern China).

I think we need to take into account that sometimes written words can appear callous without the context of facial expression and body language. He did use the word "Please". I can't say how he was or was not feeling when drafting the reply but he could be busy and just tried to get a quick answer in. If you participate in online chats or email correspondences, you know how easy it is for miscommunication to happen. Maybe he could have given a better reply but I don't think he deserves to get a beating for his short response (i.e. I would give him the benefit of doubt that he meant no arrogance, exasperation or impatience).

Nasty people don't like to have nice people working for them.
It makes them look even more nasty.
