The real shit started when I was posted out after BMT to armour. I cannot speak for armour units as I had been in Armour school. That was a place when I met some real assholes. They fucked up your life not by physical torture, but through mental hell. That was when I started to hate NS.
u sway to be post to school of armour instead of battlions or brigade where the experience would have be much better. If i were to write in to share my stories of i what i saw, experience and encounter during NSF, the letter would be shred immediately. The following are just some of it.
in bmt, i had a section mate suffer brain damage after suffering fit and heat stroke during a PT lesson. it a case that can be avoided but he was accussed to chao keng by the coy clerk and forced by PC (keling) to attend PT. The PT was not siong but he was already not well, and the physical strain was too much to bear and he collapse just 150m from the finishing line. A passing WO (Delta PC) put his hand into his mouth to prevent him from swallowing his own tongue while my keling 20yo PC grabra beside. The first of many helievac i seen on tekong. As for recruit, he never come back and last i heard his scholarship gone due to brain damage. Then there was a case of misfire in hawk coy armskote when recruit armskote assistant squeeze the trigger of a loaded M16 on the rifle rack, the bullet went right thru the wall. lucky there nobody standing in front of the M16. when i pop, there only 7 men in my section, downgraded for one reason or another thru "accidents".
in armour, i pull platoonmates out of Ultra that drove off the track and into the reservoir just before the old 3DsMB/46 rear gate, suffer a crash in tekong, had a friend drove the M113 off a bridge in aussieland and nobody in the convoy noticed the accident and only taking headcount in camp did ppl notice that M113 was missing. Then i also saw 2 AMX13 fell into a ditch in kanchanaburi in a single day and saw the cock occifier S3 demand the one of crew to climb aboard the stricken AMX13 (in a angle that will cause the AMX13 to roll over) to retrieve the weapons which the crew refused. And also have the Ultra i was in driven into a deephole (either a tiger trap or a shell crater) and the vehicle had to be tow out by the 2 Ultras behind. If the hole is 1-2 metre deeper, the troopers inside would be experiencing "vehicle overturn". FYI, vehicle overturn drill is BS/wayang only, both set of crews (M113 that drove into the reservior and mine M113) had no time to even to react to the accidents, i had my head smash against the cargo hatch when the vehicle fell into the deep hole and then kenna squash again when the sect comd fell onto me. all four of us standing would be kill if the M113 had overturn.
reservist much better but quality of occifier much worse, some were not even bionix trained and some went thru PC tour in NSF driving a desk in HQ. Even the NSF occifiers trainers in ATC also CMI. The only good thing in reservist was being paid to have a 3 weeks camping holidays from work. eat. sleep, tai di, blackjack, canteen break, then more sleep for just actually 4D3N camping trip in Area A to E. only in reservist i can sleep for 10 hours a day, so it a pity now i completed the cycle and posted to the reserves.
My story would have to title "The "accidents" i experienced in the army."
