Already they are moving all the warship into the Pacific like they own the seas. Right now if US wants to wage war against China they need to attack from Japan or Korea. If China leaves Taiwan alone, it is like a gift to US to use it as a base to attack China. Therefore if XiJinPing is too weak to take over Taiwan, he will be replaced by a Chinese Putin.
