My top 3 best chicken rice stalls

As someone mentioned, Hatyai chicken rice is always besterer than Singapore. Why? We don't have live chicken anymore. They still have. Hatyai chicken rice stalls have chicken delivered to them alive. Last my grandmom homecooked chicken rice also bestest. She'd bring back the chicken alive in the old Chinese brown paper bag.

No doubt live chickens is very important here and Thailand has plenty

This reminds me of an age-old story. That happened at an old Bendemeer coffeeshop (now no longer there). My little sis and my buddy's little sis (both kindergarten only then) liked the fragrance emitting from the chicken rice stall. But they had only a few shillings left in their pockets. They went to ask the chicke rice uncle, just rice and cucumber can or not? That chicken rice uncle kindly served them and charged them 50c only (not per pax or per plate but total). Then they ordered one small bottle of Yeo's chrysanthemum tea for 30c and shared. I happened to walk pass on my way back home and saw, and asked why you two eating chicken rice without chicken? The answer was obvious, they had no money. I told the uncle to give them some chicken and charsiew. I'd go upstairs to get the money and pay him.

My point in this story isn't how delicious chicken or chicken rice is. It's about the uncle willing to sell rice only for shillings to little girls without much money.

The chicken rice stall nearest to Toa Payoh Cash-Converter.

The rice is great!

The coffeshop in front of the Courts Store..??? Lunch time very crowded there..

Halal chicken rice must only eat the roasted chicken version.....Rex used to be the best brand (from the orginal Rex cinema) but now cant seem to find any of their stalls.

Narong last year, I had a gathering with old Sispec buddies.. Since there were few Malay guys in our group, one friend suggested we go to this Rex restaurant at Prinsep St just infront of Peace centre.. I think they already shifted there from the old location.. The cook and kitchen staff all Chinese.. The chicken rice was quite good..

he he he I queenstown boy so the only good chicken rice I know is this one in Mei Ling Street Market. Yesterday noon went to eat damn shiok. I hate kampong chicken because not fat. Fat fat chicken best best for me.

Tian Tian is very good but there's always a queue no matter what time u go.
I've been to Golden Mile Hawker Centre countless times and thought about trying the chicken rice stall many times, but instead always ended up eating fish soup, lor mee, satay, mee goreng, ayam penyet, char kway tiao, beef ball noodles, yong tau foo, beef hor fun, wanton mee, chilli mee, curry rice, etc etc etc etc....................... :D

Thanks, I'll check it out if I'm there, lol
Chin Chin chicken rice was never good in my opinion, they were famous for their western food last time before they moved.

Have you tried their craypot hainanese mutton? love it!
