My SAF Stuffs

I am gonna be homeless soon. I could not land on a real job for many years and my wife has filed for a divorce. She did the right thing.

My brother is willing to take me in for a few months before I should move out again. So I shrunk my 40 years of life into 5 boxes.

There is this box sitting in a corner of the storeroom labelled "Army Stuffs". I opened it, and found my army days' belongings. Helmat, SBO, boots, water bottles, mess tins, wire cutter, matches and etc. They reminded me of my hardship of my service time. Every little bit of memories started to flash back.

I want to throw them away. Just all the down to the rubbish chute. Is it an offence to do that?

I will leave the defendence of this country to the foreign talents. In the near future, if SIngapore is at war, I am sorry. I don't have the gears and the heart to fight for you any more. In this place where I can't afford a place to live in, I have nothing to defend.

it's not worth it. I must take a cab to bring all the stuffs to Beach Road. Might as well throw them all away.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I will dispose of them on the National Day. 8:22 PM.

I have protected this country for over 15 years. Never missed a training.

Like my brother, who has to stay with a friend in Malaysia because HDB won't rent a one room flat to him and my mum, claiming that they are rich after the flat had been "forced sold". So all three of us are basically homeless.

On national day, I want to mark an end to my loyalty to the country.
