Like now you can don’t buy wait for condo price to drop? It’s not easy you have to pay condo or hdb rental at least $3k or $4k a month. That is $36k to $48k a year of waiting. Or provided you already have own hdb to stay in.
Or have a good family home to stay forever to wait long long.
 
That’s me there at 4Q97 and not all properties crashed like mine. You need a stupid developer to anyhow cut price 30% for no valid reasons because obviously the price was wrongly cut too low with all remaining units cleared over a weekend within days. Whole Singapore only this developer did that then. That’s how suay my life is.
Very stupid and irresponsible developer to anyhow cut price excessively like this. At least if you cut price even 50% and the units still don’t move then the price cut is called got market basis.

And because many people bought cheap they sold cheap and depressed the resale price. Thats how stupid and irresponsible the developer is to the people that trusted them to buy early.

And if you wait in a rising market for past few years, the loss is not just the rental. So talk is easy to wait but do is not easy at all.
 
But your Moderna is nowhere near 6.9 years holding so how come you sold? Last time I bought my first condo also people say anytime can buy a home for staying because just stay and hold. Proven so wrong. Looks like only apply to good USA stocks and that’s on hindsight to know which is good.

I got my own pigeon house now, so won't have to rent. Problem is my age, longer I wait, shorter is my tenure.

Anyway, if really no dip in prices and cannot afford, just be realistic and stay in my pigeon hole.

If I don't change to a condo, I can comfortably hit the new ERS of my cohort by 55. Meaning, from 55 onwards, I can slow down my work. Still have to continue working because the two kids are still small. But, at least retirement payout is secured.

The reason why we wanted to change to a private property is because of the stable and steady rise of private properties in Singapore over the years. So, if we buy and we sell it later during retirement when our kids are grown up, we probably have another few hundred Ks. Then just go buy a 3 room hdb or retire on Vietnam/Portugal.

Why you don’t apply another bto to earn the another few hundred thousands ? So much easier than spend $2m to buy condo. I see many people doing that. You already two times bto?

Yes. I did a stupid stupid mistake by buying a resale as my first flat and took the subsidy. This is considered one chance gone. Every time I think of this, I feel like banging my head on the wall :(

Ya resale can’t make a few hundred thousands capital gain in outlying areas but those prime areas I think can. My friend last time bought resale prime areas 700 or 800k now should earn a few hundred thousands with price well above million liao. And resale also can earn few hundred thousand if you get maximum 200k plus subsidies. But minimum also 30 or 50k grant still not bad.

Some more after that she moved to condo and rent out her prime area hdb made good rental returns. Hdb is golden goose.
