Have personally bumped into both CSJ and JBJ selling their books in Centrepoint years back. Personally i do not believe they are as bad as the press painted them to be. CSJ might have been a bit impulsive esp the "where is our 17 billion" stunt, but his book is quite ok.

I missed those years where JBJ engaged in verbal sparring with LKY in parliament.

In any case both of them have great fighting spirit. Most people would have concussed under the pressure they faced.

LKY is one extremly brilliant man who stands no fool and stands no enemy doing better!

JBJ,the former district judge-this brings me back to the rivalry betweeen JBJ and his best freind Tan Boon Teik-Former AG,one was the best man of the other.

JBJ,LKY,two brilliant lawyers in Spore politics.

Both started with little knowledge of economics,but LKY was fated to be associated with brilliant Goh KS,whilst JBJ never had the opportunity of that education.

I respect JBJ but when he opened his mouth to touch on economic matters,I held my breath.

And I do agree that LKY does have legitimate reson to cast doubt on JBJ's ability to manage the country.

God is fair,God has given a top economist son to late JBJ,and that is how the whole matter is going to be settled,I believe.

He is a damm good orator. Actually you don't need to be a maths genius to be a good leader. A good leader needs charisma to lead and the acumen to appoint able person to lead.

Just like the US president, he is not a economics genius -he need only to have the brains around him to advise and devise plans - he just need to front it and sell it to the people, other countries, etc.

Dr Lee was an English educated medical doctor,brother in law of Mike Fan,the corporate face of PAP for many years,naturally LKY expected Dr Lee to belong in his camp,but Dr Leen had different plan.

Lim Chin Siong,who was not a communist did have the respect of LKY to the extent that LKY addressed him-our future Prime Minister during the early years when he did not have political base,all these changed after he managed to cold storage Lim CS and put himself into power.

Hong Leong Patriach insulted LKY by calling him a beggar or something to that effect.I doubt that very much,heard from my friends who hanged around Middle Road around that time,Hong Leong boss was a humble and sharp plus very thrifty biz man,the main reason he managed to climb up.
